Really lovely coffee shop, with great breakfast options. My partner had the full breakfast and I had the bacon and banana French toast which was perfect!

The best place to have breakfast

We came several times on our visit to Edinburgh and everything we tried was delicious. We loved the croissant biscoff and the latte biscoff.

Pros: All delicious, Huge menu

My whole group of friends loved it

The food and vibe here were really nice. I was visiting Edinburgh with some non-vegan friends, and they liked it so much we came back for breakfast every morning.

The pistachio cake was a real hit with them. The vanilla pastry was my favorite, but honestly it was just really nice having a cute breakfast place with lots of savory and sweet options. No complaints!

Pros: Food was really good, Both savory and sweet options, Cute and reasonably priced

Cons: None, it was great!

Pure dead brilliant! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Fantastic vegan coffee shop! Blasta!

They have a great selection of pastries, sandwiches, and even scottish food (in case you are a foreigner and want to try a local dish). ☕️🍰🥪🍪🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Food is delicious, and it's served with generous portions 😋

The place is super cosy, the staff were truly lovely.

Definitely a must if you visit Edinburgh ❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Best coffee shop

The staff were lovely when I turned up, they showed me where the quilter areas were and how there are Qr codes I each area. I ordered and paid for my drink which was brought directly to me. There were plenty of plugs for laptops and chargers, and being here to just read is totally normal which feels novel these days. I really loved the Chapeter One Coffee vibe at the front, chill vibe at the back. Will definitely go back

Fully vegan breakfast

I had the full breakfast and my husband had the French toast, all of it was delicious and came out pretty quickly too. Lots of cake choices, I had a vanilla hazelnut custard Danish which was divine!! The coffee was also beautiful and well made. A nice cosy, chilled spot. I booked a table for a Saturday morning but I didn't need to, it was fairly quiet at 10.30 on a Saturday morning which surprised me! Would definitely recommend 👌

Pros: Great coffee, Fully vegan, Lots of sweet/savoury options

Best breakfast during my UK trip

A delicious vegan rendition of a standard Scottish breakfast. It was the only place that I tried to go back a second time (but they gapped to be closed).

A fantastic little cafe

We had the vegan breakfast. Generous portions and quite delicious. Good coffee and a lovely pot of roobios tea. Previously I have had a sandwich to go. The range of sandwiches and subs is extensive - I look forward to working my way through them. On a Monday morning the cafe was busy, with a vibrant atmosphere. I would highly recommend.

Pros: The full breakfast was delicious, Very good coffee, Extensive options

Cons: The bathroom was a little scruffy

Chapter One

Popped in for brunch on my last day in Edinburgh. I went for the French toast, which came with bacun, banana, and a generous serving of maple syrup — a huge portion! Just lacking a little in flavour for me personally. The chai latte was smooth and delicious.

It’s a little out of the city centre, and I was hoping parking might be easier, but there’s no parking on the street (it’s a red route).

Overall, a lovely spot with a varied range of vegan food — well worth a visit if you’re nearby.

Delicious

Chapter One is a super cute restaurant/cafe with a wide selection of crossaints, bagels, sandwiches, plates and cakes. We had the fully vegan breakfast which was really good, a flat white and the autumn special: the biscoff latte (you definitely need to try this one!). Service was nice, we would definitely come back ☺️

Pros: Great food, Exceptional biscoff latte! , Nice Service

Delicious food, welcoming space

This café was a gem of a find! We had a delicious sandwich each (one haggis and one falafel) and I had a light sponge, pistachio cake with the perfect icing on the top. The space itself was comfortable and inviting and the staff were very welcoming. It's also dog friendly, which is a bonus.

Pros: Atmosphere, Cake, Range of sandwiches

Beautiful.

Coffee’s top notch, food hits the spot and the staff are chipper. The owner is quite obviously passionate about a plant-based lifestyle, which is so nice to see.

Loved this place so much I went three times in two days.

Vanilla crowns are heavenly.

Pros: All the vegan classics , Superb coffee and pastries, Takeaway sandwiches

The best soy cappuccino I’ve had!!

A really lovely cafe on the corner, my soy cap was soooo smooth and creamy, steamed to perfection! I also loved the sign about why they don’t serve dairy. A good selection of savoury and sweet. I would definitely recommend this place!

Pros: Amazing coffee, Croissants! , Friendly service

Lovely little place

The food was really tasty for a nice brunch. My non vegan friend even complimented how tasty everything was. Only thing is I felt staff could have been more attentive as when we walked in we weren’t sure if we were meant to choose a seat ourselves. Once we had a seat we didn’t realise it was pay at the till. It would have been good if the staff let us know this just so we were aware and to save confusion. All in all it has beautiful food and I would return!

Pros: Tasty food. , Chilled vibes. , Nice atmosphere.

Top notch hot drinks

My sister loved her biscoff coffee and my hot chocolate was deep and dreamy. I liked the breakfast, but did not like the haggis (I’ve never had even animal haggis so idk what it is meant to taste like). I just found it as well as the sausage to be very mushy in texture. I also asked for extra olive oil as our salads were quite dry. I liked the pesto sandwich, but my sister said it was nothing special and the “cheese” didn’t melt all the way. I got to eat the other half of her sandwich so it all turned out alright. Plus the portions are pretty generous!

Seems like the staff was in a bit of a hurry to cook our food, although the restaurant wasn’t packed or anything. Service was nice, free water, free wifi. The place is pretty small though. Would come back again.
