too real... - Edit
The vegan burger patty seemed way too much like beef. They assured me it was vegan though. I've been vegan for four years so I've lost the desire for meat and I didn't like it. If you are transitioning and still like the taste I recommend it.

Great chicken sandwich but generally over priced - Edit
I’ve got the chicken sandwich here twice and it’s great. Only downside is that they changed the bun to what I think is gluten free. Has the texture of sand and just completely disintegrates while eating.

Pros: Live music
Cons: Expensive

Most things are not technically vegan - Edit
When asked they confirmed most items are cooked in a shared fryer so not technically vegan, if you're not picky then you're good. Not a lot of options when you take into consideration the shared fryer.
Read moreIn addition was upcharged when I asked for soup instead of fries or chips since they weren't vegan but meal included and it was labeled as vegan.
Overall even the people I was with that were not vegan didn't enjoy the food as it was over cooked and not very flavorful.

Disappointing - Edit
It appears Cascade has new ownership within the past 2 years as the menu does not contain any of the vegan options posted in the previous reviews other than the impossible burger. They have the label of VG meaning vegan on their menu but the only item marked VG on the menu is the vegan bread although the plant based meats are vegan. Their only vegan options are the impossible burger with the vegan bun and without mayo, grain bowls without dressing (add plain tahini or ask about other dressing options) and egg, some salads with modifications, and fries. Their creamy avocado dressing contains mayo and we were also told the tahini citrus dressing was not vegan. My boyfriend wasn’t impressed with the impossible burger and I thought the American grains bowl was just ok. We did really enjoy the sweet potato and waffle fries.

Not what we hoped for - Edit
The one server tried her best to take care of the entire restaurant and bar. Not very knowledgeable about the menu... asked for two of the vegetarian sandwiches and when they finally came out of the kitchen, my sandwich was supposed to be portabella mushrooms and was tofu. They tried to make it right, but fell a bit short. It is one of the few places to get a vegan/vegetarian meal in northern Minnesota... I wish I had a better review.

More options than expected - Edit
We were surprised that our family of 6 (all vegan) was able to find dishes that pleased all of us. The veggie patty is the impossible burger, so it is very “beef-like” and was a great option for those of us that miss a good burger. The portobello steak was also a great option for those of us that aren’t interested in meat alternatives. Overall would recommend; especially since this place is in an area where you normally wouldn’t find vegan options.
