Food was a little disappointing but lovely destination - Edit
Lots of vegan options which is great. Unfortunately the execution of the food was lacking slightly. We had the vegan pizza which had a lovely crust but was cold on the middle and the cheese had been added to the pizza after cooked so was not melted. The pesto pasta was nice although no pine nuts as stated on the menu. Destination was very picturesque and service was friendly.

Cafe12 has 4 vegan dishes which are all good. The service is great and it’s a place that understands veganism. Would recommend for sure.

Vegan options in Omnivore Restaurant - Edit
My wife and I were happy that we found vegan lunch in this small lovely town. I had a burger and my wife had a club sandwiches. Both were very nice but the sandwiches weren‘t exactly as described on the menu. Friendly and funny weither. They told us that on most days they have vegan chocolate ice cream, but we couldn’t try it.

Lovely food and amazing service - Edit
Lovely restaurant with a beautiful view! The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Great vegan options (including vegan ice cream). We came twice during our stay in Agios Nikolaos because the food / cocktails / service was so good! Would definitely recommend.

The food was great and so much, the location was excellent and the staff incredibly nice. When we went to pay, one of the staff let me know that they also have vegan chocolate ice cream and he let me try it. I thought that was super nice, but I was to full to actually get it! It was very good though. They also have vegan milk for coffee.

Bad vegan food, good service - Edit
There are 4 vegan options: the first is a pasta dish that we haven't tried. The other are combinations with beyond yond meat. We have ordered the pizza since didn't know that it was with beyond (a subtatude that we don't like). The pizza is actually a focaccia with some kind of a bad vegan cheese (was hard, tasted awful and didn't melt) and pieces of beyond meat on top. Could not touch it.

This restaurant is located at a beautiful place. The owner was soo nice and friendly. We will definetly visit again if we are in the area!

Lovely restaurant, staff and amazing view by the harbour. They have vegan meat, cheese and Mayo and they even made me a vegan Irish coffee with almond froth. The toilets are well equipped too with sanitary products and nappies for babies which is a nice addition. Best restaurant in Crete so far.

Cafe12 is located beautifully at the Lake and has some vegan options. I had the Vegan Club Sandwich and it was delicious! My partner (who eats meat) had the Moussaka, which he said was also very very good. What I found a positive surprise: The dish with meat was way pricier than the Vegan option, which is not usual - but actually should be the norm. Really nice to see vegan options not as a way to offer expensive food but simply to expand the options!

Omnivore restaurant with vegan options and a really friendly waiter. He helped us with choosing our vegan meal and was very supportive. The vegan options are also clearly marked in the menu. My vegan clubsandwich was really delicious, so was the chocolate ice cream.

The perfect end to our visit - Edit
We were upset to see our first choice on Happy Cow has since closed, but really really enjoyed this place. The waiter was super kind and helpful, and the food was actually better than expected (as in the pesto came with proper pasta instead of spaghetti, and the club sandwich came with something like Beyond Meat or comparable 'meat' on it. They also had a fair price on Alpha beer from the tap, and the chocolate gelatto was so good even the waiter himself said it rivals 'regular' Gelato. You can't beat the atmosphere when it comes to the view either 😄

The staff are very welcoming and friendly and there’s the choice of a vegan burger or a vegan club sandwich which has plant based ‘beef’, cheese, lettuce, tomato & mayo. They were also happy to supply extra vegan mayo for the chips. One of the best vegan dark chocolate ice creams I’ve had.

Lovely coffee! - Edit
Really friendly waiter and really yummy coffee. Options on the menu for vegan food and sorbets for dessert! Which isn’t common for that area at all! Price is also really reasonable and the view during the night is beautiful.
