NOT VEGAN FRIENDLY

The staff pointed out vegetarian options as vegan they are not the V is vegetarian the vegan option actually says vegan. Please be super careful eating here. I pointed it out to the member of staff that made the mistake and he didn't care at all!

Pros: Nothing to say

Cons: I was told all the V symbols are vegan. , They are NOT only one sandwich and no cakes, Staff didn't care the were mistaken

Cake & Coffee

Popped in here to get out of the rain and was delighted to find an excellent range of vegan cakes! Treated myself to a caramel cupcake and coffee and it was delicious!

Very nice!

I really enjoyed escaping the bustling street in the waterstones cafe. It was calm and peaceful, and the coffee was lovely. They had several vegan options which all looked very tempting! There is free wifi too. I think it does get quite busy and noisy at certain times of the day, but that is to be expected.

Vegan tea and cake with a view

Sometimes I avoid chain store cafés because I think I am going to get the same boring identikit food, but this isn’t the case with Café W at Waterstones. They’ve teamed up with some great local suppliers to create a menu that’s not only vegan-friendly, but also gives a real taste of Edinburgh’s foodie scene.

Café W is very vegan-friendly, with lots of savoury and sweet options. For lunch, you can have vegan chilli or one of the vegan soups courtesy of Union of Genius. Or, if you would prefer something sweet, you can treat yourself to a cupcake or a slice of cake from Naked Bakery. All the vegan bakes are clearly marked ‘VG’ at the counter.

You really can’t beat sipping on a warm cup of tea while admiring a picture-perfect view of the castle. Plus, its location makes it ideal for refueling after a long day of retail therapy in the city centre!
