Amazing options, I didn’t deviate much as I loved my option, carrot lox. We visited 4 times, all the bagels were amazing so tasty, high quality ingredients. Wish I could have brought the carrot lox home as they sell it. Cakes generous size and tasty. Pistachio Crossaint indulgent. Hazelnut latte is the best I’ve ever had, strong taste. My favourite eatery in cologne. Location was great for us, we go the train and it’s a 5 min walk from station. Staff really friendly and spoke a little English. It is card only though.

The miso latte is neither good nor is its extremely high price justified 👎 Also, PLEASE mention the price on the menu/flyer advertising it if it's this eye-wateringly expensive. I was VERY mad 😤

Read moreThe cakes are beautiful! I tasted the raspberry/ vanilla one, which was very good. Not too sweet, even though it looked like it could knock your teeth out, so that was a nice surprise!

Alles in diesem Landen ist lecker wirklich alles! Preislich ist es schon teuer, aber die Sachen auch einfach wirklich geil. Die Tische und Stühle stehen ziemlich eng, an Wochenenden bin ich nicht gerne da. Man kann nur mit Karte zahlen das finde ich eher unsympathisch.

A Sweet Little Escape at Rotkehlchen Café - Edit
I’d heard about Rotkehlchen from a friend and just had to visit. The café is quite small, with tables set closely together, but I managed to get a window seat - absolutely perfect and totally my vibe! It’s beautifully and cozily decorated, with a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel at home right away. The menu is lovingly designed, and I really appreciate that all the different plant milk options are listed. There’s even some cute merch - and their little Rotkehlchen mascot is just adorable!
Read moreThe staff were very friendly, though a bit slow and forgetful at times. I ordered a matcha latte, but unfortunately, it wasn’t great. Either there was a mix-up with the order or it just wasn’t a good matcha - the flavor was weak, the color pale, and there was another taste I couldn’t quite identify.
For food, I went with the quiche, which was delicious, though a bit on the smaller side. I’d heard that the bagels and paninis are more generous in size, so that’s probably better for a bigger appetite.
The absolute highlight, however, was the Nussecke I took to go - my first vegan one ever, and it was perfect! Not too much chocolate, beautifully nutty, and full of nostalgic comfort. My inner teenager was thrilled. I really wanted to try one of their many cakes (the selection looked amazing!), but I guess that just means I’ll have to come back.

Very cute café with many great lunch options and cakes. We tried two paninis, one with seitan and cheese and one with ziegelkaase and agave, both were very delicious. We also had a home made apfelschorle and vanille latte, both of which were very good. They have loads of cake options and a very extensive menu. Service is good and very fast

Choose the panini when you’re hungry and a bagel if you’re less hungry. I had a vegan salmon bagel and that’s why I had space for the amazing piece of Spaghetti-eis cake 😍🍰
We had a nice chat with the waiter about where we’re from and also explained and showed me what the very German ‘Spaghetti-Eis’ was that the cake was named after. They had so many pies and cakes to choose from, I wish I could have tried them all!
Definitely a must visit if you’re vegan but also when you’re not! The atmosphere is great and the service is even better. Will for sure come back when I’m in Cologne next time. 🌱

So awesome. Staff was very charming, the café is cute and I love their selection, especially their cakes look absolutely stunning, though I sadly didn't have room for one. Tried one of the Panini and it was very delicious and fresh, huge size so difficult to finish but thus worth the prize too. Also got a treat to go, which was good as well. Would definitely love to return there and try some of those cakes!
