Extensive vegan menu

We had takeout from here and barely knew what to order, there are so many vegan options. We ordered the biryani, rice, aubergine curry, chapati and masala chips. The portions were generous and we spent less than £20 for all of this. Everything was tasty albeit quite oily. The biryani was probably our favourite. I'm sure we'll try some more things from their menu.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Huge portions, Great prices

Cons: On the oily side

Monday night curry club has vegan options

We visited Cafe Indus for the first time. As it was Monday, they were running their weekly curry club, which includes several vegan options. You get 4 courses:
1) poppadoms and pickles (watch out, the yoghurt and mint dip is not vegan)
2) onion bhajis & pakoras
3) a curry of your choice with rice and roti
4) fruit salad
The service was extremely slow, but the food was great, the staff were very friendly, and the price is very good at just £12.99 per person.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Great value for money, Friendly staff

Cons: Very slow service

5 Stars!

I haven’t eaten in the restaurant so I can’t vouch for that experience but I have to confess that our takeaway consumption may have increased since discovering this place. They have a separate vegan menu and I’m slowly trying to make my way through the various dishes, which admittedly is difficult because I keep going back to the amazing aubergine curry. I would give this place 5 stars if I could, by far the nicest Indian food I’ve ever had. My meat eating partner and family love the food too so it keeps us all happy. A huge downside (besides them serving meat of course!) is that the food takes a very long time to come (once it was 90min but they do give that time on just eat) so if you’re getting takeaway I advise ordering way before you want to eat. It always comes hot though so I think it’s just a case of them being busy and trying to squeeze you in when they can.

Pros: Separate vegan menu, Amazing food

Cons: Long time for takeaway food

Nice place

Cozy, informal atmosphere which is nice. The staff were attentive and happy to help. Ask for the vegan menu. The vegan starters were all great, I'd recommend the mixed starter as then you can try a bit if each. Also they will bring a vegan pickle tray which is nice as this is something that is often overlooked. Good selection of curries, not just chickpeas and cauliflower like you get stuck with in some Indian places. You can request how hot you want it and plenty of options for sides. They seemed to be still finding their feet with the vegan stuff but plenty of potential here. Will be back.

Pros: Good value, Nice range of curries, Cozy place

Cons: No parking
