won't be back - Edit
I was pretty surprised at how difficult it was as a vegan to work with their menu. Most of the options are vegetarian, not vegan, and then the few that can be made vegan have a little star by them... so when I asked my server how certain ones were made vegan, it was usually just by leaving out a certain ingredient, without providing a substitution. After a lot of figuring out, my fiancé and I settled on a black bean burger and tomato vegetable soup (the only vegan soup they had...)
Read moreThe food itself tasted good, and the interior design was absolutely gorgeous -possibly one of the prettiest restaurants I've been in. But honestly, with how poor/slow the service was, and how expensive the food was (for such limited options!) we won't be back. Maybe it's easier for vegetarians. (although I did read another review talking about how their cheese has rennet?)
Pros: beautiful interior design, food wasn't bad
Cons: not as vegan friendly as you'd think, very slow/poor service, expensive

A Seattle MUST - Edit
I’ve dined here before years ago (10 ) and it’s only become more charming and delicious. The atrium is just how I remembered it and the menu is fresh and creative without being arrogant. When I’m visiting Seattle Cafe Flora will never not be on the list of places to hit up for a damn good meal. I enjoyed everything the table ordered, but the Brussels sprouts stole the show, y’all! Absolutely amazing. If allergic, or avoid seeds ask them to leave the sesame seeds off.

Pros: Made-to order, pleasant staff, and vegan options

Tasty! - Edit
Despite being asked by the host to wait for a table at 2pm, seeing several open tables in the restaurant, and no one ahead/leaving, I was seated after a strange 10 minute wait. However, my server was very friendly and the kitchen quickly turned out my meal. It was filling, well balanced with flavors and textures, and quite a satisfying meal overall.

“Substantial” - Edit
Initially a little saddened that the black bean kimchi burger wasn’t on the dinner menu, the presentation and flavors of the crispy chickpea panisse dish (listed under the “substantial” menu section) more than made up for it….and “no regerts” with my impulsive decision to order the cranberry almond clafoutis for dessert.

Lovely location - Edit
Vegetarian food most can be made vegan. Very friendly people and light and airy setting. Loved the tomato avocado toast and rosemary lemonade and cinnamon roll. Second time here was disappointing: Biscuits and gravy were pretty plain and the tofu on the side way too salty. The Colorado rancho scramble with tofu had cardboard like tasting potatoes and same salty tofu and it was just topped with beans and tortilla chips. It’s not what I call yummy vegan food. Also too pricey.

Really enjoyed my lunch here, there food might skew a touch healthier which sometimes means a little bit a sacrifice on flavor but was delicious regardless

Solid Seattle Breakfast - Edit
Asked for the southern platter to be vegan:
Read more- scrambled tofu was yummy
- veggies were good, a bit salty
- the biscuits were a huge surprise, they tasted amazing!
Enjoyed it very much. Beautiful space. Tea was also great, though $7 is a bit much for tea.
Pros: Pretty area, Biscuits!

Impressed - Edit
Gorgeous restaurant and patio with equally beautiful food. Everything tasted fresh and bright, with local, seasonal ingredients and nice presentation. Unique flavour combinations that really complimented each other. My favourite was the polenta with cherries and pesto but everything we tried was excellent. Almost everything on the menu can be veganized and the entrees work well for sharing. Don’t skip dessert!

Great ambiance, and food with depth - Edit
The flavors were amazing. You can tell they put a lot of thought into everything. The tea has great, complicated notes. The mushroom gravy left me wanting to drink it. The tofu scramble had flavor, and was great with the hot sauce they brought me. The raspberry brownie sundae came out super warm, and it just really wonderful.

Delicious - Edit
Cafe Flora is one of my favorite entirely vegetarian restaurants in Seattle. It was one of first vegetarian restaurants I tried after becoming vegetarian and has been a staple since going vegan plus it holds a special place in my heart for other reasons. They have an excellent selection of vegan or veganizable dishes which are always delicious. The atmosphere is relaxing and chill. Overall, a delightful place to eat with family and/or friends with delicious food.

Delicious! - Edit
We went twice, once for brunch and once for dinner. Both were excellent, but brunch was particularly delicious, especially the Southern something -or-other (I forgot to take pics this time), which was a tofu scramble, vegan biscuit/gravy, and greens. The turmeric drink was also really tasty. Excellent!

I always enjoy coming here! Their solarium is very green inside and has a lot of natural light. I like how they have clearly labeled vegan/vegan usable options! They have really great meals for holidays as well which are usually reservation only. I’ve loved every meal I’ve gotten here!

Cute Cafe, Tasty Dishes - Edit
Cafe Flora has got to be one of the most beautiful cafes I've ever been to with its aesthetic and food offerings. My plant based heart was full and ready to try all the different options they offered.
Read moreA group of us came on a weeknight and were seated outside in their patio outdoor (but enclosed) patio. It was the first day of their spring menu and they encouraged us to order items to share for the table; an easy task for an Asian like myself.
We went with a few amazing starters- their spread sampler served with sourdough had some of the best homemade dips ever especially their Spring Pea Hummus, the yam fries with house aioli was fire, and the spinach artichoke dip was some of the best I've had. All vegan and all amazing.
The entrees though were a bit more mixed for me. The Strawberry Watercress Salad was refreshing but didn't excite me as much as I had hoped, the Risotto was a bit on the saltier side and was only half the bowl, and Fried Trumpet Mushroom over Potato Waffle had a great waffle but the mushrooms weren't as kickass as I've had at other vegan restaurants. Plus I felt it was a bit pricer for the amount of food we got in general.
We ended our dinner with their Chocolate Cake with Coconut Based Vanilla Ice Cream, which came in small bite sized brownies that were probably sitting in the fridge for too long lol. It was still good though.
Despite that though, the food really was great and we had a great time especially with the samplers. Thank you to our server Logan who really took care of us all night.
