Really surprised

I just glanced at the meal of the day menu and noticed a very nice sounding tofu dish with seaweed. There were a few dishes on the menu vegan, good portion size too. We will be back as atmosphere inside was great.

Pros: Vegan options , Decor , Great service

Vegan Burger

Vegan burger was delicious, came with a “meaty” burger patty, vegan cheese, tomatoes, courgette & caramelised onions and chips. It was so delicious.

Pros: Clearly labelled vegan options, Staff happy to translate, Delicious foods

Pleasant experience

They have most of the milk substitutes and have a vegan burger on the menu along with a traditional Portuguese meal made vegan. I sampled their vegan pastel de nata and it was the best one Ive had in loule! They also have a vegan croissant which is massive.

Decadent dish

I ate the vegan francesinha, a portuguese sandwich. It was a really decadent dish with a lot of carbs and fat. It’s not my kind of vegan food, but it is probably the way this dish is made. Beware of what you eat!

Really good vegetarian Francesinha

Had a vegetarian Francesinha, which was very good. Filled with seitan meat and mediterranean veggies. The good tasting sauce is traditionally made with a little bit of alcohol (you can’t taste this inside the dish).

Beside that, i had the vegan Bifana Vegan (the same seitan meat in some sort of gravy/whine sauce).

Pastel de Nata in the vegan variant was only available in another cafe by them.

Authentic portuguese Café

Such an authentic portugese Café with different vegan options of local pastries such as Pastel de Nata or Folhado de Loulé.
The waitresses were really friendly and the Café was very charming with high ceilings and beautiful columns.
Also the prices were really reasonable.

Pros: Vegan pastries & delicious coffee, Good value for money , Charming ambience

Vegan Portuguese

Modern Portuguese Cafe specialising in pastries and light meals. Recently reopened after a renovation this little eatery can get very busy at lunch times on market days. Full of late morning cafe and pastry diners along with those out for a light meals of soups and traditional sandwiches. Great to see there were several vegan options on the menu. I went for a traditional Francesinha which is a beast of a sandwich stuffed with bagel meats, winter veggies and smothered in melted vegan cheese and homemade tomato sauce.

Pros: Lots of vegan options for mains and pastries , Very good value for money , Great atmosphere

Cons: Can get busy
