Heavenly Vegan Ice Cream - Edit
This place was recommended to us by a lovely young German couple who we met at our lodgings in Udawalawe, so when we stopped off on in Galle, this was our first stop. We had coffees with two scoops each, I went for coconut and chocolate, my girlfriend had cinnamon and coconut, they were so good, one of the nicest vegan ice creams I've had. The owner is a beautiful women who treats you like family, I updated her address and opening times on here and she was so grateful. If you are visiting Galle Fort don't miss this place, she also sells ice cold bottles of water.

Very friendly guy working there who gives helpful recommendations, it was the best mango ice-cream I've ever had. They also have coconut, oat and soya milk for coffee (which were also excellent)

Cute cafe with separate vegan ice cream (shakes and coffee) menu. I wasn’t even hungry but devoured the mango and coconut ice creams because they were so creamy and the most delicious I’ve ever tasted. Home made nothing like shop bought. (They were coconut and soya based.)

Lovely family run cafe with homemade ice cream! - Edit
This is such a gorgeous hidden spot that is a must visit for vegans! They make coconut ice cream from their own trees and it’s incredibly delicious. You can have coconut iced coffee and a whole menu of other vegan options. They sell spices and roasted coconut too. Beautiful service from a lovely family. 10/10

We chose this little cafe as we saw a sign for vegan ice creams outside - and we were so pleased we did! The owners were so lovely and very friendly and the ice creams were absolutely delicious with a great range of vegan choices. We chose the coconut and the soursop (risky choice!) and both were absolutely delicious. Although we didn't have a hot drink, they also have a good range of plant milks - coconut, soya and oat milk I believe. Thoroughly recommend this little gem in the heart of Galle.

Staff that seemed surprised to have me amble into their establishment, a forlorn adolescent swaying on a porch swing in the dimly lit back room, and a general vibe of being in someone’s living room. Juxtaposed to these elements were the playful ice cream prints on the wall and collage of customer-created artworks which, if you looked nowhere else, would give the impression of a whimsical parlour. To say this was quite a surreal experience would be an understatement.

My vanilla selection was first to arrive. Beautifully presented, and visually appealing, the first thing that I noted after my first bite was the texture - rich, creamy and smooth, it was near perfect in consistency. In terms of taste, it wasn’t quite as impressive. There were some pleasant notes, but it didn’t quite pack the punch of promised flavour to make it a truly memorable serving.
Unfortunately, the same issues were even more apparent when it came to the coconut offering. Again, there were zero complaints with regard to its velvety composition, but it lacked enough clout and clarity to tantalise the tastebuds.
Just as I had gainfully worked my way through my second scoop, out of nowhere, two women - radiating strong matriarchal vibes - burst onto the scene. They seemed genuinely delighted for me to be there, and were keen for me to rank them against their local competitors - something I was happy to oblige in.
Without much in the way of significant competition, it’s quite easy for me to hail this as the best to pick up your plant-based gelato in the city, but I definitely had better elsewhere. If I were to be in the area again, I would be minded to give this place another shot - more out of intrigue if nothing else.
