Nice Curries but pricey

The curries were very tasty and we liked the atmosphere very much. But 2350 rupees is just to much compared to other places we tried.
Ginger Beer was a bit too spicy for us.

Pros: Delicious

Cons: Very Pricey , No Toilet

Good food but overpriced

At 2350 rupees this meal comes in more expensive than I pay for a Sri Lankan rice and curry in Australia. That said, most things is Galle are aimed at the wealthier international tourist that dominates the market. The food is good and the ginger beer is excellent. It would be good to have a cheaper, single serve option, as all you can eat is not always needed, especially on a very hot day.

Pros: Good flavours, Excellent service, Delicious ginger beer

Cons: Expensive, but on par with much of Galle

Delicious curries

It’s a cute little restaurant with all you can eat curries. They have one with meat and the rest without and we assumed them to be vegan since he said it had no milk but if you want to be 100% sure, you should ask more about the ingredients. The staff was very nice and explained us what curries there were. We paid around 2400 LKR per person and left with a full belly. Can recommend!

Wonderful curries

Quaint shop tucked in on along a street in Galle Fort. Serves wonderful all you can eat curries of fantastic quality. I loved the jackfruit and eggplant curries in particular. Coconut sambol was heavenly—only fitting for a shop with that name!

Their homemade ginger beer was also amazing.

It’s not the cheapest place you’ll find to have Sri Lankan rice and curry but my god it’s delightful!

One of the best restaurants we went to!

This is definitely one of the best restaurants we went to in sri lanka. There is a all you can eat buffet with many different typical dishes, mainly vegan 🤤 totally recommend!

Highly recommend!

If I could give it 5 stars I would (but understand it is not fully vegan - they serve one chicken dish). The other 5 curries are all vegan and it's buffet eat as much as you want for 1850 rupees which I thought was great value considering the quality as well. The curries were absolutely exceptional.. so flavourful.. I have tasted a lot of different curries all around India and Asia and these were like nothing I had tried before! And the homemade ginger beer.. honestly the best I have ever tried without doubt. For only 550 rupees you can't go wrong but honestly I could've downed the entire thing instantly! The manager is so sweet and helpful explaining all the dishes and what each is made of. Please please visit and support this gem if you are in the area!

Pros: Outstanding quality, All you can eat so great quantity, Really good value

Great Curry Experience

Very tasty curry! All you can eat, only one with chicken, the rest vegan. A true taste experience, a curry is seasoned with 20 spices. The price is a bit more for local standards, but still good value from a European point of view! Very nice staff.

Good gedara style restaurant in Galle, but expensive

Restaurant that offers all you can eat rice with a choice of curries. Typically, this place seems to do one meat curry and eight or so veg curries, which I confirmed were also all vegan on both of my visits. All tasty, though not very spicy. They also make a ginger beer in house, which is quite good.

Only drawback is the price, but it's not outlandish for the touristy part of Galle.

Alles was vegan en heerlijk!

Dit leuke authentieke restaurantje is echt een aanrader, alles was vegan en als iemand dat wilde kon er wat kip gemaakt worden, het is een buffet , 8 pannen met goddelijke smaken curry. Ontzettend vriendelijke uitbater, leuke sfeer

Pros: Alles vegan, Authentiek sri lankaans, Ontzettend lekker

Cons: Voor sri lanka wat aan de prijzige kant

Good food but too expensive

The food is really great but it was really expensive and if you are not there for all you can eat you can get curry cheaper somewhere else! Bonus was that everything was Vegan except one chicken curry.

Pros: Lots of vegan options

Cons: Expensive

Delicious all you can eat buffet

Almost all dishes of the buffet are vegan, only one meat option. The food is super tasty and quite spicy. The homemade ginger beer was our highlight, so so good!! Unfortunately much more expensive than other restaurants. Would be nice if there was not only the all you can eat option and therefore cheaper prices.

Pros: Almost completely vegan., Very tasty.

Cons: A bit expensive.

Delicious food

It’s a buffet style so you can try all the different curries, except the one chicken one that is clearly pointed out as unsuitable for vegans, then go back for more of your favourites. The flavours are delicious and the host is really friendly and welcoming.

So so good and fresh!

I loved everything. I was the only customer and when he explained the curry selection I said that I’m vegan. He immediately swapped the chicken curry for another vegan one. All dishes were exceptionally tasty.

For drink and food I paid 1750 rupees, and it was totally worth it.

Authentic Local Curries

We were only in Galle for a few hours and we'd already had ice cream at Café 82, this place is on the same street. We popped in for a quick lunch there were 4 vegan curries and rice to choose from. The dahl was uniquely smoky, there was one with soy protein which was really good too, the coconut sambol was great, the fourth curry was a bit too sweet for us. They also had home made ginger beer which was delicious but spicy. It's a small place with only 5 tables but the owner is a really nice guy and the food is worth a visit.

Pros: Great vegan options., Inexpensive

Cons: Serves meat

tasty and typical sri lankan food

A small place with buffet and a large offer. The food was very tasty and there was only one pot that was not vegan but vegetarian. He mentioned it very often, to make sure, that i eat just the vegan food i asked for. So very kind. It is funny, early the day i was there, it was more a shop, i saw the tables but was more looking fort he jewellery he also sells.

Pros: tasty vegan food, Kind owner

Delicious food and great value!

This place lives up to the reviews! We were the first people to arrive for lunch today and we let the guy running the cafe know that we’re vegan. He told us that all but one of the dishes is vegan-friendly, and until a new set of customers came in, he kept the selection plant-based.

Everything was delicious; rice, dahl, soya bean curry, chutney and, of course, coconut sambol!

Just beware that they’re not 100% vegan, and while we were there, a fish dish was brought out for the other customers.

At 900 LKR each, all you can eat (and we did our best), this place is excellent value and the guy, who we presume is the owner, is so friendly and welcoming!

Pros: Almost all vegan-friendly!, Excellent value for money!, Lovely owner!

Cons: Not 100% vegan or veggie.

Nice rice and curry buffet

Really small place where friendly owner serves a really good all you can eat rice and curry buffet.
7 different dishes of which 6 were vegan, for 990 rupees, all realy tasty, only the soy/eggplant dish was too salty.
Funny to see that the “today special” from 3 weeks ago (homemade ginger beer) was still today’s special😄Really good though, although too much sugar was used...

Pros: Good food, Lots of vegan dishes, Fair price

Really good Sri Lankan food

Excellent food for 900LKR per Meal. Expect local cuisine, nothing fancy and you’ll be happy. Their ginger beer is also a delicious treat.

Amazing Sri Lankan food!

We read the TripAdvisor reviews and had try this one out. Food and atmosphere in one word: excellent! Three out of four curries were vegan and veeeery tasty! We think this is the best srilankan food we’ve eaten this far and the fresh drinks were super refreshing after a hot day. Staff was very friendly as well. Give this one a try!

Pros: Value for the money

Cons: Small, only a few seats

Delicious food!!!!

Although it’s not a vegan place, not even a vegetarian (they have one dish with chicken) we had there the best vegan curries in our whole 2 weeks trip in Sri Lanka! And we tried a lot of very good curries before😄The place is small and cosy and the staff very friendly. They know what vegan means😄they serve rice (sooo tasty) with 4 types of curry apt for vegans. The eggplant with banana is absolutely amazing!!!! I also fed a street cat that went into the place and there wasn’t any problem with that😄 And it’s All you can eat buffet! You serve yourself whatever you want and as many times you want. The size of your stomach is the limit ;)

Pros: Almost all curries are vegan!(except one), The eggplant with banana is to die for! :), Super friendly staff
