Unreal food - Edit
I had the breakfast burrito (made vegan) with Impossible Meat sausage as an extra — was absolutely delicious. Probably the best breakfast I had in LA. Drip coffee was great too.

Food good but not kid friendly - Edit
Early dinner here with mates. Nice vibe, great food. Bad experience with the manager who made us feel uncomfortable about our 2 year old boy making noise. Def don’t take young kids there as they have no tolerance.

Delicious Food. Beautiful Restaurant. - Edit
I wish The Butcher’s Daughter was 100% vegan but we’ll take what we can get. Even with the vegetarian options, the majority of the menu was still plant-based.
Read moreI stopped here for lunch with my boyfriend today. The restaurant itself is beautiful. It’s very green and full of plants. Service was good and we were seated quickly without a reservation.
I ordered the “Lox” and Bagels which features carrot “lox,” pickled onions, capers, dill, and vegan cream cheese on a bagel. It was delicious. The carrot lox tasted almost like the real thing without the slimy fishiness that I always hated in lox. It blew my mind.
My boyfriend got the soup of the day which was a tomato soup today. It came with two slices of bread and was also vegan. I had some of it and it was also delicious, but it is hard to mess up a tomato soup.
We saw that they had Chunk Meat on the menu, one of the only restaurants that has it and we had to order it. It’s served as steak and eggs so it’s a vegetarian dish, but I requested that they place a piece to the side for me to try it. Wow! The texture, cut, and taste were almost like the real thing. I was amazed.
Finally, I ordered a chocolate chip cookie to go, which I warmed up at home and really enjoyed. I also had the mango lassi, which is the only thing I didn’t like. The search for a good vegan mango lassi continues!
I’d highly recommend this place!
Pros: Mostly vegan menu, Serves Chunk Meat, Good service. Beautiful location.
Cons: Some vegetarian options

Menu sounded pretty good, but the execution fell short - Edit
Dined here on 13 Oct 2022 for dinner and was excited to try a new mostly-vegan restaurant. The menu had some pretty good sounding dishes, but what we ordered fell a bit short. The service provided by Molly was excellent, and they even created a dish that would work for one of our friends who has a garlic/onion allergy,
Read moreFor our party of 5, we ordered the Mushroom Calamari, The Melrose Burger, Gnocchi in Prosecco, Nonna's Vultures, The Don Salvatore and a "khachapuri" created for our friend with the allergy.
The Mushroom Calamari reminded me of French's Original Crispy Fried Onions. I have had mushroom calimari before that actually included large pieces of mushroom so they emulated the calamari, but what was served was pretty much shredded fried mushrooms. I actually couldn't distinguish any mushroom at all. Definitely would not order this again. The dipping sauce that accompanied it was pretty good, though, with a little bit of a kick.
The Melrose Burger, which includes cheese, can be made vegan by omitting the cheese. The patty was mushy, which can be expected given the ingredients from which it's composed. The "Pee Wee Potatoes on the side" were similar to fingerlings, but had no flavor.
The Gnocchi was not crispy as stated on the menu and Nonna's was just okay. There wasn't a lot of distinct flavor from the ingredients and it wasn't anything exciting.
The pizza and "khachapuri" (which was actually a pizza with just cheese and an egg) I'm assuming were fine since the friends who ordered them finished.
We split the bill evenly and It came to $33/person including tip. Definitely not a cheap dinner and will probably not be back.
Another odd thing was that the entrees were ready before the pizzas and we were asked by I'm assuming a manager if we wanted those brought out first or everything together. We said everything together, but the entrees arrived a few minutes before the pizzas which was a bit awkward.
Since this restaurant has not even been open a month, I'm going to chalk it up to them not hitting their groove yet. I would think since they have another location in LA and a few others in NYC that this would be no big deal, but maybe I'm wrong.
In summary, there were some pretty interesting menu items, but what we got didn't feel like it lived up to the expectations the menu created.
Pros: EXCELLENT service, Friendly staff
Cons: Parking can be an issue, Pricey for what we got, Food fell short of menu

Amazing Vegan/GF (Vegetarian) Food - Edit
We were excited to see a Butcher’s daughter restaurant open up in West Hollywood. My wife and I had our first opportunity to try it this weekend for brunch. We tried all 3 of the raw dishes (Eggplant Oysters, Watermelon Carpaccio, Beet Toro & Sashimi) from the brunch menu… very creative, tasty, and satisfying. The fried oyster mushroom calamari was amazing (vegan/ GF) and we really liked the aioli that came with it which is slightly more spicy than at the Venice location. Lastly, we tried the Baja Fish Tacos. The fried banana blossom was very surprisingly satisfying with a good crispy mouth chew and well complimented by the other ingredients. We are vegan and gluten free and there are still several dishes for us to try. We will definitely be back for sure. Hoping that they will develop/have a vegan/GF scrambled egg option so we can try even more of there amazing sounding dishes/sandwiches. BTW. We are very impressed with the gluten free sandwich bread that they bake and serve at the Venice location. Haven’t tried it yet but assume it will be the same at the West Hollywood location.
