Disappointed

I am regular at different Loving Huts around Melbourne and I have to say that the service I received in Northcote was so appalling that I will never return.

Most humiliating dining experience of my life

It's taken me a long time to write this. I came to eat during the Vax certificate enforcement era. It was only my second time out at a restaurant out if lockdown. We walked past the front desk as no one was monitoring check ins and because the person whose birthday we came for was waving us in and I had his presents in both hands. As I walked to the birthday guy and hugged him I was yelled at by a staff member that I was not to sit down, and I was not to enter because I don't have a Vax certificate (I do have one). They didn't bother to ask me, just yelled so that everyone on the restaurant was watching us. And kept yelling "she doesn't have a Vax certificate" several times. I showed them that I do and sat down and another one of our party asked that they not be our waitperson for the night, but that person did come and slam the teapot I ordered in front of me so it spilled on the table but did not come back for the rest of the night I just wanted to hide but it was someone's birthday and felt like it would be rude to leave. I can't eat soy so was the only person not sharing food on our table and spent a really long time discussing what I could eat. I ordered the curry with roti with no soy... And it came with the fake meat with soy in it. The soy thing, I'm used to. But this was the third time at brother Bon that I've had some soy issue...
I've been vegan 14 years and used to love this place when it was loving hut,. The people used to be so lovely but now after that experience, there is nothing that would ever make me eat there again. I will never ever set food in this place. I've never been this humiliated in a restaurant. There was no kindness and compassion involved. And so what would have happened if I didn't have a Vax certificate? Would the staff member have continued to yell at me? This could have been done in such a nicer way.

I would never ever risk being treated like that again.

Pros: Is a vegan restaurant

Cons: Lack of soy free options, Staff inconsistent knowledge of ingredients , Rudest staff ever experienced
