Lovely vegan-friendly cafe with new things to try

I love a salad counter and there were many fresh and filling bowls of delight to choose from here. I especially liked the rich flavour of the kale and mushroom salad. I also enjoyed sampling from the range of Greek sweet and savoury pastries on offer which I'm less familiar with. #Veganuary

Pros: Lovely service, Nice vibe, Generous portions/good value

Worth a visit

You may not think this place would offer many vegan options, but they do. So do give it a try. Savoury as well as baked goods and drinks available. Comfortable interior and friendly service.

If I could give 5* I would!

Brick and Olive is my favourite cafe and brunch/lunch spot in the Finsbury Park area. The food is always excellent and the people are lovely and friendly. Vegan combo for brunch is very tasty - avocado, mushrooms, hummus, great bread, tomatoes and salad - and they have a salad bar and vegan moussaka and other dish options too. Baklava is vegan and a number of the other pastries also. Everything very clearly labelled.

Pros: Excellent quality, Lots of vegan options, Lovely people

Cons: Extra for plant-based milk

Helpful staff

Glad this place was on happy cow as we wouldn’t of come in otherwise. The menu doesn’t sound that vegan friendly - but when we went inside a lovely member of staff explained what we could have. All the salad bar one were vegan and some lovely pastries- we had a mushroom one, a olive swirl and a lovely spinach filo one. Lovely vibe. Tasty, healthy food.

Pros: Lovely staff , Nice vibe , Cheap

Cons: Menu could have more vegan things written on, Vegan food could be advertised outside

Great for lunch

I work locally and have been looking for months for a decent place to get lunch. This place is definitely it - their takeout salad boxes are £5 and most of the selection is vegan and all of it is usually gluten-free. The staff are always willing to go and grab the chef if they're not totally sure what is vegan and the chef is lovely - really helpful and vegan 50 days of the year (for religious reasons) so knows how to cook good vegan dishes. They also have vegan items behind the counter including mushroom koubes, olive puff pastry and some sweet baked goods. They also have the best vegan gluten-free chocolate orange tarts (We Love Cake brand). They also make fresh juices.
The main menu isn't as vegan-friendly but the chef said they're perfectly willing to remove items from their vegetarian breakfast for example and adjust the price down accordingly.
I'd definitely recommend this place - decent vegan food and pleasant, flexible staff.

Pros: Very vegan friendly, Lots of gluten-free options

Cons: Not as many vegan options on main menu
