Considerably Better Than Expected

Whilst going about a days shopping, and dodging in and out of rainstorms, I came this branch of these restaurants and decided to give it a shot. To be honest, my expectations were pretty low.; even as my food was being constructed (an alt pastor burrito) I got the feeling that this was going to be an average meal at best. However, I needn’t have been so pessimistic. The portion size was good, the faux meat filling was incredibly tasty and all the fillings complemented it beautifully. Even the additional chips that I got were rather impressive!
On this evidence, I’d have no qualms about returning if I was in need of a quick, delicious Mexican hit.

Now in Victoria Square

Currently there are great vegan options. I had sweet potato and lentils tacos. With all the trimmings. Even VEGAN sour cream. What's not to love ♥️. This was in the Victoria Square branch. Not sure why it's not listed but it's the same business. Three bean chilli also available, rice options etc

Pros: Tasty, Nutritional, Fast friendly

Cons: Wee bit noisy

Perfect for a quick lunch or bite to eat

Boojum is a Mexican burrito bar also serving other traditional Mexican street dishes, including tacos, burrito bowls and nachos. There are several branches throughout the city, and several more throughout the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Boojum is perfect for a quick lunch or bite to eat whilst exploring the city, and when ordering you can customise each dish the way you want it. My girlfriend and I ate in Boojum right before catching our transfer back to the airport. Being pressed for time we needed the speediness and casualness Boojum offered.

The only downside is that Boojum doesn’t serve any meat substitutes, such as soya strips, tofu or seitan, and no vegan cheeses, but you can pack your dishes with plenty of black beans, salsa and guacamole to compensate.

Pros: Inexpensive, Fast, Casual

Cons: No meat substitutes, No vegan cheese

Gran wrap vegano

Tienen muchos ingredientes veganos para hacer un wrap gigante. Cuidado con el picante. Además son muy amables. Un punto a favor es que tienen horarios más amplios que otros sitios.

Filling veggie option

A ubiquitous option in Belfast with at least 5 branches across the city.

As soon as you ask for the veggie option staff will ask if they should change their gloves - personally I don't mind - but it's a nice touch.

Beans + rice + beans + guac + salsa, what's not to like.

Pros: 'Free' guac for veggies, everyone else can suck it, Very generous portions

Cons: No dairy alternatives & I can't resist the cheese, Not a very relaxed vibe as it's always heaving, A bit dirty if you're sitting in

Fresh, filling burrito bowls

Lovely food and friendly service. I ordered a burrito bowl and when I said I was vegan she offered to change her gloves. A few cheese shreds had fallen into the lettuce so she went and got a fresh box of lettuce from the kitchen. The food is lovely and filling, and really good value - £5.45 for a burrito bowl that would almost do 2 meals!

Pros: Knowledgeable staff and tasty food. Good value for

Good portion sizes for the money, not much variety

A solid amount of food for the price. Would be nice if there was more variety of vegan options - vegan cheese, tofu, seitan, etc.

Get a boojum in your boo-tum.

Highly recommend, as it's the cheapest fresh option here in Belfast, (save for a tesco picnic) and portion sizes are fairly big.

The bowl is huge and they really let you pack on the toppings!

Pros: The staff shout 'vegan' down the line and put on f, Friendly, cheeky staff with a sense of humour , Hot sauce that's actually fairly hot

Great Burrito, even by U.S. standards

When I was told Boojum was the place to go for a burrito in Belfast I was at first skeptical. However, after finishing my burrito I must say it was quite good, even as someone from the USA who's used to Chipotle and other Mexican food.

There was a long line on the Friday night going out the door but the wait still wasn't too bad, only took about five minutes or less. I got a vegetarian burrito which is the cheapest and comes with free guacamole and pepper and onions, lime or mexican rice, black or pinto beans, and a variety of salsas, lettuce, and corn. I felt I got a good value and the portions were a good size, definitely not too small. Also the staff were very friendly and helpful.

I'll definitely be coming back as a staple of Belfast!

Pros: Cheap, Delicious, Friendly staff

Cons: Can be long wait

Vegan Paradise!

I'm not sure why this place doesn't have more reviews on here. It is one of the top take out places to eat in Belfast (see TripAdvisor) AND they cater for Vegans!! Get the burrito, fajita, tacos - whatever you like. 2 different choices of rice, peppers and onions and a few different bean options. ALL VEGAN. The only things that aren't Vegan are the obvious things, like cheese, sour cream and meat. The guacamole here is the bomb! And all the salsas are really fresh and delicious. The rice, salsas and guacamole are all made there, so it's as healthy as fast food comes. Give it a try!
