Tarka Dahlington

Plush restaurant with vegan options clearly labelled. Obligatory pickles popadoms were good. My vegetable madras was perfect. Plenty of good vegetables, a gorgeous thick sauce and a good amount of heat. Not greasy or full of onions. Best Indian in Darlington according to the advisor of trips. Why don’t you find out for yourself.

Not the best in Darlington

Separate section of the menu with three vegan dishes. I had the aubergines, which were fine, came with roti. I've had better dishes at competing Indian restaurants in the area.

I think what lets the place down is the housekeeping and service. The service was friendly, but slow (it was quite busy). There was no loo roll in the vacant toilet when I visited. I also found a hair in a poppadom.

I wouldn't return.

Perfect sit in or takeout

Although it doesn’t specify on the menu, the onion bahjis are vegan (confirmed by staff). Roasted cauliflower and lentil curry with mushroom rice is delicious

Pros: Atmosphere , Takeout
