Laid back vegan restaurant with a Bavarian tavern atmosphere est. Dec 2013. Serves Bavarian comfort food like kaiserschmarrn, schnitzel, and mushroom ragout. Also has burgers, salads, and a range of desserts. Note: Advance bookings recommended, because the restaurant gets very busy at peak dinner times. Companion animal friendly. Open Mon-Fri 17:00-23:30, Sat-Sun 12:00-23:30.

Great place to try veganized German food - Edit
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here. Well, even though the onion rings and cauliflower buffalo wings slightly missed the mark, the main dishes—wild mushroom ragout and bodhi pfanderl—more than made up for it; they were hearty and delicious. The star of the evening for me was hands down the kaiserschmarrn, which apparently is a traditional Bavarian dessert. It was so, so satisfying and absolutely to die for! Please, everyone, do yourself a favor and order it. You can thank me later :)
Read moreGerman food is known to be anything but vegan-friendly, so it was really nice to be able to try some traditional dishes made vegan. I found the prices very reasonable for the quality and quantity we got. Staff was friendly throughout. The vibe was cool and a bit edgy. Really nothing to fault except for maybe the location; it's a bit out of the way for most tourists. But it was totally worth it for us. I'm just a little miffed that I didn't know about the all-you-can-eat Sunday brunch and missed out on it!
ETA: Regarding some people below saying the restaurant would only take German debit cards or cash, I had no problem paying with my US credit card. YMMV.

Great vegan tavern - Edit
A vegan tavern in Munich – what’s not to love? We had dinner here on a Saturday night and really enjoyed it. There’s a nice, relaxed ambience to the place and the waiting staff were very good. For starters we had buffalo wings and onion rings, and for mains the Beyond Burger and large fries(!). Very satisfying!

NIce atmosphere and good German food - Edit
I visited this place in August 2018 and had stuffed cabbage with dumplings (Kohlroulade und Knödel), hot white chocolate and a shredded pancake-style mixture with apple sauce known as Kaiserschmarrn in Germany. I personally didn't like the stuffed cabbage, although I am sure it was good in quality (never ate it before). The Kaiserschmarrn was really good but way too much as a dessert, could have been a main course. The waiter gave me a compliment for finishing it " not many make it " . Maybe they should rethink the size . .

Favourite Restruant in Germany - Edit
Bodhi was hands down my favourite vegan restaurant my husband and I visited in Germany. I had the Cheese Spaetzel and my husband had the schnitzel like burger. They have phenomenal white hot chocolate! They have this amazing cake called Kaiserschmarrn which you have to try. We loved it so much we went back two days later to eat at Bodhi again. Service is friendly and fast. This is the perfect place to try traditional Munich food made vegan.

Great little laid back place - Edit
This was another one on our hit list for Munich & we were not disappointed. It reminded me of being in a British pub, nice laid back vibe. After the delicious kebab at Erbils I’ve become obsessed so had the gyro plate here & my partner had the beyond burger - both excellent! I almost forgot to start we had the chili cheese bites, also excellent. I had a lovely glass of red, my partner had some sort of draft beer. It was super busy & I think we were very lucky to get a table without booking so bare that in mind. (Also worth noting they only accept a very specific type of card for payment (maestro perhaps?) so my other half had to go out in the snow & walk back to the station to get out cash) Would definitely go back the food is great & the staff are lovely, everything is completely vegan & lots of options both local & international.

🍻Typical bavarian Wirtschaft🍻 - Edit
As a bavarian girl who loves bavarian food more than anything it was very hard for me to do without meat or animal products in general the last years. So finally I know that typical bavarian Wirtschaft with ❤️hearty❤️ dishes wich on top really taste delicious! On sundays in winter there's a buffet (for example main dishes like Gulasch Geschnetzeltes or even kind of asian Curry, salads, Antipasti, breakfast stuff like marmalade, different spreads, bisquits and delicious cakes) for only 20€ wich includes housemade lemonades, mango lassi or even Prosecco! (Do call for reservation for buffet)

Lovely! - Edit
I went here on my first night in Munich as it was the closest fully vegan place near the Meininger hostel. It was super busy when I arrived even though it was a Monday night. I sat at the bar because I was on my own so no need for a table really. The guy who seemed to be in charge was lovely, always smiling even though he was run off his feet.
Read moreI had the Buffalo Wings to start which were kind of spicy but really nice, then I had the Gulasch as my main which came with a salad on the side. Coffee at the end of the meal was honestly one of the best I've ever had.
31€ for the two food items, the coffee and two gin and lemonandes.
The menu has at least three starters, five mains, not including the two pages of burgers, and three desserts.
There is an all you can eat breakfast served there on Sunday morning too.
Pros: Great service, Coffee was top notch, Worth the money
Cons: No Bombay Sapphire gin, lol

Yummy hearty bavarian food! - Edit
If you're looking for a real Bavarian food experience, the Bodhi is your thing! They have a warm cozy "Wirtshaus" atmosphere, great beer and even better food! I love the savoury burgers and everything from the starters - especially the cauliflower buffalo wings! Perfect for everyone who loves soulwarming food😄The staff is very nice and quick and the prices are really okay for a city like Munich. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do :)

Bar with good selection of booze and bar food. Service from very friendly, pleasant and efficient staff. Had a burger which I enjoyed very much. I don’t normally eat junky food but I fancied a blow out and Bodhi fitted the bill :)

awesome - Edit
I had the mac and cheese, which was absolutely delicious (and I've tried a lot of vegan mac and cheese because it's one of my favourite things). Mac and cheese also came with a side salad which was nice! Great atmosphere to the place as well and you can definitely just go there and have a drink and chill. The staff is also very friendly!

Unbelievable traditional German dishes! - Edit
This place is one of a kind in the vegan community...just awesome...we had schnitzel and another German dish I don't remember the name of...it's voodoo! So good! Don't know what they use for meat substitute but if I didn't know it was 100% vegan I would have protested that it was meat. Wow!

Great German atmosphere and food - Edit
Went there twice in two days. Nice neighborhood, atmosphere was great, lots of cocktail options and good beer. We had the large salad and macaroni and cheese one day. Macaroni was delicious, salad was great, lots of variety, dressing was light but very flavorful just didn’t love that the roasted peppers they added were cold (and hence mushy). Other day we had tempeh remoulade and Bodhi burger. Remoulade was delicious, and very good idea to cut thin tempeh to use as the “wrap”. Burger was good, messy and not exceptional. We also had the cauliflower wings which were well battered and sauced. Light on hot sauce with a side of bbq sauce but it worked. All in all was a great place for dinner and would definitely come again.

Friendly staff, delicious food. - Edit
Very friendly staff compared to other staff I've encountered in Munich who have been a bit stand-offish. Jackfruit burger was very nice and the cauliflower wings were delicious. Would definitely return if it weren't my last night in Munich. Cosy, had no reservation but they managed to fit us on their last available table; book ahead if you're keen.

Meat-substitute heavy - Edit
I would’ve loved to give 5 stars, because the staff were quite friendly and the vegetables that we did order were delicious. But on an entire menu, only 1 option offered anything plant-based. The rest were simply German meat options, with fake meat. Im all for fake schnitzel offerings, but if you have no options at all for anything not pretending to be meat, it can be quite limiting.

Best vegan restaurant ever! - Edit
First, the place is really cool, it is a vegan tavern. We had the steak, and the schnitzel, and they were absolutely delicious. We also had appetizers, which were delicious, I recommend the cheese balls, a delicacy. Super friendly waiter, great service, fantastic design with all sorts of great quotes on the walls. This place is a must!

bavarian + burgers paradise - Edit
Its not in the main steet so you can nicely sit outside in summer. Staff were very friendly. It was not easy to decide what to eat since all dishes looked so good (there are bavarian specialities) so at the end i took a vey tasty burger. Metal straws instead of plastic which i find excellent. Full vegan.
