Read moreI went back to Italy for a few days and my girlfriend and I dined in this little place in the center of Milan. It was a riot of unusual but balanced and interesting flavors, tastes and combinations. We ate as a starter frosted carrot with a vegan mayonnaise is exceptional and a pizza toast so fragrant and brittle as to evniore the creeps. We then tasted the pomegranate risotto: divine and made by hand with a crazy creaminess considering that there are no products of animal origin but it was creamed with celeriac. Bucatini with sweet garlic cream and slightly spicy rice milk, an amazing tempeh cooked in wine and served with mushrooms and lime potatoes. Finally, a sweet to scream: cannolo with cashew ricotta and a soft white cream. Impeccable service, very nice and very friendly chef, so much to give us the recipes of some dishes, very correct prices. Congratulations

This dining experience was a disappointment. The first minuscule course consisting of a single carrot, mini bruschetta with vegan mayonnaise was unbalanced with the bulk of the dish consisting of the mayonnaise. We then had the bland risotto featuring a sticky sweet taste with nothing in the dish added for balance. The final course was actually outstanding, tempeh medallions with a mushroom reduction sauce with broccoli. If the previous dishes had risen to its level of flavor and presentation we might have been able to forgive their shortcomings. However given our bill included a charge for tap water and the basket of bread offered to us, we can’t give this overpriced establishment much of a recommendation. Maybe it was an off night, or perhaps lunch offers better value, but I don’t understand the good reviews. The staff, however, was friendly.

Food here is really amazing, even if you don't like "arty" cuisine, try it! Best vegan meal ever tried in Milan restaurants. And at lunchtime it is also pretty convenient. Bread is worthy the visit.

Lovely proper white tablecloth restaurant, great service and delicious creative food. Not cheap! We had a yummy chickpea omelette (more like frittata) and mushroom tagliatelle. Everything was covered in fresh truffle shavings!

We had planned a day in Milan and wanted to have a proper dinner at night. And boy o boy! BistroBio did not let us down.
Read moreOur waiter was excellent! We had a starter, first course and dessert (we really wanted to try a second course but our tummies could not handle that haha).
The combinations of flavors were amazing and they platted it beautifully. I can't say anything more than that we had an EXCELLENT experience at BistroBio. If we are in Milan again this will defiantly be the place to go. Thank you!

This place was so good, I went three times during my short stay in Milan. A bit of a hike to get there but definitely worth it. Very hearty but tasty and well cooked vegan food and a nice IPA to drink. Nice big portions too! Great staff and the owner/chef came out to greet the diners every night.

I’m so glad we visited Bistrò Biò. The place is so cute and cozy and homey. The food is amazingly delicious, freshly made in front of you! Alll the staff is very kind and down to earth. When in Milano, this is a must for us! Today we were in Milano only for one afternoon so we got there for lunch 15min before closing time and they were so nice and had no problems whatsoever to serve us even if it meant they had to stay there longer just for us.

We arrived at 11:30 and the food wasn't ready yet. We thought this was a bit strange as they opened at 09:00, but maybe we aren't custom to the different eating times in Italy (we've encountered the same issue with other restaurants). We got some home made apple pie instead, which was delicious. Also received some complimentary water, which was nice. Waitress seemed a bit moody, other staff was really friendly.

I wandered around Milan and found that every restaurant option was closed. I found this place and was greeted warmly by the owners and fed DELICIOUS food and the portion size was more than fair. I WILL come back here again!

The food is all prepared fresh and on the spot in an open kitchen, which is amazing. The options are, of course, limited as only specific things can be made at a given time.
Read moreThe food we had was really good, and the chef was amazingly friendly, but the waitress seemed a bit annoyed with us and not really into her job.
Overall, I felt the place lacked atmosphere despite the very good food.
This place is not really located in an area that is of interest to tourists so unless you're already in the area I wouldn't recommend coming here just for the food.

At last vegan food in Milan - Edit
After struggling to get vegan food in Milan tried to get here on two previous visits and made it this time round. Well worth the wait. The chef came to my table to help me with the menu and loved it. Home made tofu ricotta and a celeriac cutlet. Lovely meal at a decent price. Different choices to the normal vegan fare and not just trying to do Italian vegan either.

( Tiramisu, lemon cake and applepie ) We were explained what was in all of them ( if were they gluten free and they used no sugar but rice syrup in some ) and they took they're time to help and explain in English to questions we had...
They were working on lunch which looked amazing.
It is always good you can look into a kitchen and see what they are doing!
Claudio really is a warm-hearted man with a passion for what he does.
When in Milano, check them out!

Read moreThe owners/chefs speak English well and told me exactly what all the food was. I'm gluten free as well as vegan, and it turned out ALL the food that night was gluten free!
The flavours were just incredible! I went on a night that was an all you can eat buffet (Tuesdays & Wednesdays only) for only €10 including a mojito mocktail and gluten free bread. What a bargain! I left very satisfied and full.
The staff there gave me a really warm goodbye and I promised to go back the next night, but unfortunately I got there after it closed which is a shame.
100% recommend this place. I left with a smile on my face. Very personal service from the staff.

Water and bancha are complimentary!
Food is always different and never boring.
On friday and saturday evening you can get dinner a la carte.
Chef Claudio is always improvoing and experimenting with food and ingredients so as to offer the best and stimulate curiosity.
Also with a lot of attention for the presentations and the colors that go in the dish!
Delicious for the mouth and the eyes.
Pros: Every day different menu, Attention to the aesthetic, Water and bancha for free
