RUDE - Edit
Hella rude woman who was working there when we went. Walked in, doors were wide open, she pretty much scowled at us and said she wasn't open yet. Keep in mind it was a Sunday and the cafe was supposed to be open at 7. It was 11am.

Disappointed Vegan - Edit
Went to this restaurant expecting to be blown away. What a huge disappointment. When asked the cashier what vegan breakfast options they had to offer, was replied with an answer of, "I'm not sure, maybe some yogurt." Should have known then.
I ordered the avocado, Brussel sprout sandwich. The bread was hard and the Brussel sprout/avacado salad on top was average at best. Thought I'd try the vegan French soup, turned out to be some onions sitting in a pool of oil (which later gave me a huge stomach ache).
Will not be returning back to say the least!

No vegan selection - Edit
They only have 1-2 vegan items at any given time of day, so if they run out of those there won't be anything for a vegan to eat. I tried to visit but they didn't seem to have vegan items available, and when I asked, the staff was not able to help.
Pros: In downtown shopping district
Cons: No vegan selections

Get the oatmeal - Edit
Cute French style bakery where everything is homemade.
Really delicious oatmeal made with hemp milk and quinoa. Nice brussel sprout sandwiches too.
Not too many vegan options but they're mostly labeled. Some staff members aren't too friendly but not all.
Pros: Oatmeal, veggie sandwiches, fresh and homemade
Cons: Narrow vegan selection, uneven staff friendliness

Not worth the walk - Edit
I walked 20 minutes to Bio as I was staying in Union Square and there are no vegan breakfast options in the area. I got there and all they had that was vegan was pea soup...

bad experience - Edit
My husband and i went to find breakfast here and were very disappointed. One member of staff was very unhelpful and gave the impression that she did not want our custom - ignoring my questions, deliberately avoiding eye contact, chastising me for (wrongly) thinking i would not put my rubbish in the bin, the list goes on. I ordered the porridge that was actually quite good but small so i then ordered a vegan banana muffin. The staff member took it to the microwave to warm it without asking and when i said i did not want my food microwaving pulled an odd face. When i ate the muffin i realised the reason for the microwave and the odd face, the muffin was extremely dry, hard and inedible, not good at all. This place might be okay for non-vegans (i only say this as i couldn't try the other food) but don't bother if your a hungry vegan looking for healthy non-microwaved food.
Pros: good location
Cons: unfriendly staff, bad food, bad vibe

Affordable & Casual - Edit
This is a tasty & rare option if you're in Union Square & need to eat without the fuss of a touristy, sit-down restaurant. More of a cafe to grab & go. Very affordable & creative organic vegan options. Ex) a giant avocado & brussel sprout sandwich with sun dried tomato spread served on fresh walnut bread for $7. Strawberry jalapeño juice puree for $4. It seems like the go-to choice of the local employees in the area. Only one woman working so be prepared to be patient if it's during the lunch hour. The online menu is not comprehensive of all of the vegan options in person.
