Serves meat, vegan options available. Casual, cafeteria like spot offering New American food. Try the falafel hummus wrap. Relocated from Cochituate Rd in 2015. Reported closed, Aug 2017.
Big Fresh has consistently been a source of veg-friendly food for me for well over a decade. Their dishes are tasty, healthy and consistently good. The tempeh special is amazing. If in the area this is probably one of your best options as there aren't many!
It was exciting to discover this place on a recent trip to my hometown. Those of us plant based foodies are living the good life! The vegan invasion is in full force in Framingham too. We had the excellent Big Fresh Salad - lots of seeds, excellent vegan dressing as well as a wonderful seitan stir fry - deliciously marinated with roasted veggies and brown rice. While they do serve meat, it's still an excellent locally owned option for vegans looking for something more than a boring salad (obviously, with no offense to the amazing raw food rebellion).
I had the falafel wrap which was really good. My brother was happy with the tabouli wrap and the iced tea was also very good (four options). The vegan chocolate cake wasn't great, but the wraps made up for it. There were several good vegan options.
Came here for dinner on a weekday. Not a big place and was busy, but turnover was fast, so we got no problem finding seats.
The menu is all over map and very vegetarian/vegan-friendly. We got a lentil veggie ball salad, a tempeh stir-fry, and a succotash side dish. Veggie balls were a bit disappointing. They were simply a mushy mass of red lentils with spices and whatnots served cold on a huge bed of salad. The succotash was good, the tempeh with the thick sweet curry sauce was fantastic! Though they could a little less oil. Portions were generous, good value.
This place is like a college cafeteria. You order your food at the register, get a ticket, wait for your order number to be called, fetch your food, and dig in. Not the kind of place you would take your date to, but excellent for having a quick bite of yummy whole foods.
