Closed, but for how long? - Edit
Went by last night and the space is gutted and abandoned. It’s marked “Temporarily Closed” on Google Maps but it doesn’t seem to be under construction: the space is now empty.

Finally FLAVOUR!! - Edit
We were so excited to stumble upon this place on a rainy day!! So fortunate to find an authentically vegan restaurant in Hoi An as many have misleading signage.
Read moreThe food was exceptional. We have the special Pho and spicy hue noodles. Both full of flavour.
Although not necessary, we really appreciated both the vegan menu with English option and a clear explanation of what was in the mock meats.
Can’t fault it. A must try during your trip in Hoi An!

They serve a variety of vegan foods as well as vegan smoothies and coffee. The owner has been vegan for thirty years apparently.

100% peace of mind vegan restaurant - Edit
After spending some time in Vietnam, we realized that some restaurants don’t fully understand the word ‘vegan’ and there’s always a language barrier in confirming whether menus are vegan and not vegetarian. This is one of the places where the owners fully understand veganism. They have one of the best banh mis with vegan fried eggs. Noodles and bao buns were also excellent.

More than just Banh Mi! - Edit
Although this place is called ‘Banh Mi Chay’, it sells so much more than just Banh Mi! We came here because of the good reviews and it did not disappoint.
Read moreThe menu is very extensive and there are even Hoi An local options. We tried one Vegan Fish Cake Noodle Soup, one Banh Mi platter, the steamed (Bao?) Bun and one local Hoi A noodle with rice cake, peanut, mushrooms and cold cuts. I forgot the name. All the dishes were very very tasty, very good. The ladies who run it speak limited English but the menu is in English and also has pictures. When we were there a young teenager who spoke English very well was helping out and he helps us with questions. The people are very nice and the food is so fantastic.
The also serve nice free tea which is on every table.
