Food based on Uber eats order

As mentioned above, this is based on an Uber eats order, so I can not comment about the restaurant itself.

I could not decide what to eat so I chose a variety of dishes. All tasted fresh, healthy and definitely filled me up.

I love the oyster mushroom calamari

Yummy, not oily and the chips/fries are air fried😄

Surprised

I was a little take a back when I walked in and there were chicken legs at the counter. The space is shared with another non vegan vendor and the food is prepared on floor above. I waited half an hour for my order, would call ahead next time if possible.
Had egg mayo on rye - more tofu scramble mayo but flavours were good. I also tried the chocolate smoothie which was too sweet and the dates in it were not blended completely.
I also tried the Mac and cheese, not cheesy at all but a pleasant savoury creamy sauce.
The peanut butter bar was really good.

Best in Cape Town

I love this place. It’s affordable and delicious. It makes proper vegan food that’s not junk food which most places just do mock meats.

Very odd set-up

The menu for Bamboo is split with an omnivore "restaurant," and coffee bar. It's a tiny location that looks like it's only a coffee bar. You can place your order and the food is called to the kitchen upstairs. No idea how it's made or what the kitchen looks like because it's an office building. They bring the food down when ready. 1 small table inside and two tables outside. I got the Asian bowl which was good. However, the menu is up on a TV screen and the price was 85 for my bowl, and she charged me 100. She said the menu needs to be updated... but it's on a screen and you'd think could be updated in one minute. They also listed a large chocolate chip cookie on the menu but she said they didn't have any, and she actually had no idea what I was talking about until I showed it to her on the screen. She again said the menu needed to be updated. I'm not sure if this set up is temporary, but it's far from ideal. I don't recommend.

Pros: Decent food (at least the one bowl I got)

Cons: Strange set up, in an office building, Prices weren't accurate, Menu items weren't accurate either

Tasty but a tad slow

Had the “calamari” and Asian bowl. Took about 30 minutes to arrive (ordered around 13:45) & by time it got to our table the calamari & fries were lukewarm (as was my rooibos tea which had started out piping hot). Kitchen is on 2nd floor & eating space on ground floor during renovations so guess it sat for awhile?

Pros: All vegan

Cons: Slow service , Lots of options not available

Fresh and tasty

We got a mushroom burger and a cheese sandwich with the sweet potato bread, both were super tasty. The venue is nice and very spacious and all the dishes in the menu sounded really tempting and seemed to be carefully thought through. Very nice experience.

Very Tasty

The restaurant wasn’t busy but our order was still fairly slow. Turned out to be well worth the wait as the food was very tasty. Loved that the food was not cooked in and loaded with oil. Well worth a visit, you won’t be disappointed 😁

Pros: Great options, Nice open space, Reasonable pricing

Great Vegan place in the heart of Cape Town

A great new place in the Cape Town CBD. Fairly easy to find parking close to the restaurant. At least for dinner. Parking in the city can be hard to come by.

I ordered the Calamari & Slaw while my partner ordered the Asian Bowl, we shared both. The Calamari & Slaw was really good with both deliberate flavours as well as subtle flavour layering. Plate consisted of Sweet potato fries with a tasty seasoning, air fried mushrooms with a very delicate flavour in the batter and a asian inspired slaw.

The Asian Bowl is served deconstructed with a host of fresh vegetables, mushrooms, avocado and glass noodles. I thought the dressing was exceptional.

For dessert we tried the baked cheese cake, and that was ok. For me the bar for vegan cheesecake is very very high - but this effort was acceptable. But the winner for desert was the Peanut butter cup that we took as take away. That was excellent.

I look forward to explore the rest of the menu. I will be back.

Pros: Good Location, Nice variety of items on the menu, Fair value for money

Cons: Portions can be a little bigger

Great tea

Was a little bit disappointed, but only because the toastie I ordered (cheese and tomato) didn't have melted cheese and also had pesto added (not stated on the menu) which I don't like. The egg & cheese muffin I'd been excited about for days and the flavour was awesome but it was so soggy.

Pros: Love that its all vegan!

Cons: Food wasn't great
