Social Food for Life - Edit
Balarama is a fast food [Service] Vegetarian Bon Lloc.
It does not fit into a conventional Café or Restaurant description.
Being a visitor to a Hare Krishna Temple, I assume they serve Prasadam [ Spiritual Food] which will enhance our Spiritual life.
Coming back to my senses, I found the food bland [ ie the Subji with no cheese] with little choice, or maybe it was me being rushed at the service counter that I was not able to consider my options. All the rushing did not do my digestive system much good.
You get plenty of food on your plate, and it is very inexpensive. Indeed if you are on a budget this is a place you should try.
The Service was helpful, if a little bit rushed
With the Religious and Social aspects, this is more than just a Restaurant.
Pros: not expensive, Food +++
Cons: Bland and Rushed

Cheap and cheerful - Edit
Balarama does nice, but not exceptional, Indian food. It's good value for money, some of it is really delicious, and the service is good. I told the woman who was serving that I was vegan, and she prepared me a plate of food with substitutions where necessary. The fried food is incredible, but the curries could do with a pinch more flavour. The poppy seed pastry for dessert was divine though, and we'll definitely be back.
Pros: Great value for money, Lovely staff, Fried side dishes are amazing!
Cons: Curry a little bland

Fate brought me here. - Edit
I needed to find this place exactly when I did. I had been traveling in Prague with a group of meat eaters, some of which were severely against the idea of a vegetarian restaurant. This made it so difficult to be able to eat with the group. After a frustrating week, I took an angry walk and found this restaurant. It is in the basement of what looked like an office or apartment building. You order your food at a counter, which consists of one meal of the day, either the large meal or the small meal. You can also make this vegan. I ordered the vegan small meal. After seeing what was given, I am afraid to see the large meal. I was given so much food, it was amazing. The meal also came with tea and a pitcher of water that was found at each table. This came to a whopping 90 KC. That is equivalent to about four US dollars. I couldn't believe the amount of food and the fact that it was delicious. The small meal was a curry over rice, a salad, soup, and desert.

nice place - Edit
Besides daily menu possibility to choose other dishes such as pakoras or samosas, which gives some variability to the menu. Loving their desserts. Nice and friendly staff.

Cheap but Excellent - Edit
It's true that's not easy to find, but if you have a map, and read the street signs, you cannot miss it.
I was really well treated, asked for vegan and they spoke very well english and were allways very polite and friendly.
Really huge porpotions of food, with soup, tea, dessert and more, for 4 euros you can eat and have not hunger for the rest of the day.
They even got other stuff and salted food if you want to pick up for later in the day.
It was a must in Praha for me because I was travelling with a very low budget.
Though the localization, you can access easily because there's metro or bus nearby, just look in the city map on this website like I did.
When I returned to this reastaurant with some friends, I even got more food and we all spent a lot of time trying to eat everything, and that was really good since we were going to travel to other cities.
Pros: Cheap, Friendly, Quantity
Cons: Not in central Praha

big feast - Edit
Really huge portions. I ordered small portion and thought it was big and big portion which my bf ordered was huge;) Really cheap, tasty hare krishna food, quiet place, drinks are free. It's a bit far from the city centre, you have to be careful - it's easy to miss that place.

Huge portions - Edit
It is not easy to find, but it is worth it. We ordered a small (95kc) and big portion (105kc). When served a small portion we thought it was a big one. Then, when served a big one we were afraid we wouldn't be able to eat this all, the portions were HUGE! The food is standart Hare Krishna stuff, very good. Drinks included. Very quiet place, we were whispering not to spoil the atmosphere.
Pros: Huge portions, Cheap, Tasty
Cons: Bit far from the centre
