Saucy salty burgers - Edit
My (non vegan) boyfriend had the Mexican burger with fries he would give it 4 stars. I had the balans burger with fries. I thought there was a little bit to much sauce and way to much salt. I usually like pretty salty food.

Nice fusion cuisine - Edit
After eating bbq tofu burger my carnivorous father said: this halloumi cheese was really tasty! Isn't it the best compliment? Listening to Modern Talking on a loop was also pleasing. I reccomend it as a place where you can eat tasty vegan burrito and wash it down with aromatic chai latte.

100% Vegan - Edit
Located outside of the Old Town, Balans Bistro is roughly a ten-minute walk from Michael’s Gate, offering a chance to escape the crowded restaurants on the main streets. The establishment is 100% vegan, decorated with cute messages amongst a wooden and plant décor. For those looking for more of a health binge, this is the spot. On the menu are vegetable burgers, burritos and burrito bowls (a favourite of my girlfriends), and quesadillas. And for those like me, it’s important to note they offer plant milks for coffee, and agave syrup to sweeten.

Amazing - Edit
Amazing vegan place. The music is great, the staff are so friendly and the burrito was definitely the best I have had in my life. Was in Bratislava for two days and ate here for both of them. Perfect.

Really liked the restaurant, the staff were lovely, great little independent place.
Read moreI had the ruban sandwich, really enjoyed it. The sauces especially the garlic were amazing and best thing about the place.
Only reason its 4 and not 5 is we were disappointed with the quesadillas. Could have do so much more with the filling.
Pros: Homemade dips, Drink selection , Independent
Cons: Some dishes not the most filling

Quesadillas for the win! - Edit
Balans Bistro was my first stop when arriving to Bratislava. It’s a lovely tiny restaurant with a welcoming atmosphere. I had the champignon quesadilla (which was out of this world!) filled with grilled Hokkaido pumpkin, mushrooms, olives, vegan “cheese” and a delicious dressing (forgot the ingredients, but it was yumm!). Totally recommend it!

Disappointed with burger quality - Edit
Burger was poorly done. It literally fell apart on the first bite.
Read moreThe black bean patty just crumbled into bits and fell off.
There was too much sauce inside it, which also made it dribble, and very messy to eat.
Eventually I gave up eating my burger how a burger is meant to be eaten (with hands), and resorted to eating bits of it with a knife and fork.
Not an enjoyable dining experience.
The chef / owner could do with going to Warsaw, Poland to learn burger making and serving from the best - from Krowarzywa burger restaurants who are also all vegan.
The burgers at krowarzywa are also made of a bean patty, but don't fall apart, and are served with a unique paper wrapping around the burger, which stops all content from falling out.
I am only giving it 2 stars as the fries were nice, and there was a menu in English.
Pros: Fries were nice - but that's it.
Cons: Poor quality burger - falls apart, Messy to eat, Minimal seating

We really liked this place in Bratislava. The place is cozy, friendly employees and delicious food! My bf had a spicy quesadilla but it was not spicy at all. But it tastes amazing, so he didn’t mind.

Please note: this place is cash only! We didn’t know (there was no sign) and had to go take money out of an ATM. Very delicious burgers, sandwiches and fries. We also loved the drinks - great sangria and beers! Loved the atmosphere and music too!

Fantastic Cuban sandwich - Edit
We had a lemonade and the summer speciality, vegan cuban sandwich with roasted seitan and tempeh "bacon". The sandwich was really amazing, but the lemonade was too watery for my taste.

Nice relaxed atmosphere. Good food, I had the ramen special although the tofu special with pea and basil sauce was better (more tasty)! The menu has a reasonable selection and there are a few dessert options.

Best vegan place in Bratislava! - Edit
Small restaurant in downtown Bratislava with all vegan menu, serving burgers, hotdogs, quesadillas but has also menu that changes daily. Food is super delicious and tasty. They also serve homemade lemonades and bottled Kombucha. Place is quite tiny so if you want to grab a lunch during lunchtime come early.
