Read moreI’m not a fan of Buddha bowls, but it was so hot that I couldn’t think of eating fast food or a curry, so I tried it, and it was good. I can’t really appreciate it since it’s not normally my kind of dish, but it was perfect for the moment, everything was fresh and the avocado perfectly ripe.
My husband had a burrito and was really impressed by it. He said it was one of the best he’d ever tried.
The coffee was so-so though, but in general I wholeheartedly recommend this place.

A cozy bistro with a cause. Gastro [censored], proven to satisfy meat eaters as well as health conscious vegans on their cheat day😄However don't expect a calm ambient atmosphere, this place is usually packed. And for a good reason!

2020-07-03 They changed the location and the menu, and it's even better than before, if that's even possible! We tried the green burger with grilled tofu, as well as the Cuban sandwich with bacon, both accompanied by the Belgian fries and one honey mustard and one barbecue dip. For drinks we shared a one litre homemade grapefruit lemonade. Delicious!
Read more2019-03-10 Went there on a Sunday and we tried one of their weekend specials - the winter burger with grilled marinated seitan, vegan ricotta, roasted walnuts and beetroot, homemade onion marmelade and the horseradish mayo, all accompanied by their homemade chips/fries - Delicious! For drinks we went for the hot housemade lemonade with mint and coconut sugar.

Favourite vegan spot in Bratislava, food is always delicious and staff super nice☺️ New location is bigger and have sunny terrace (plus they offer pizza and draught beer now😎). Menu is diverse with many gluten free options.

The place has wrong info about open hours: here, on fb and google. Cash only. Rude worker didn’t let me to choose another dish(I didn’t have enough cash for what I choose before and they have no possibility to charge by card), she said “we have not enough space to stay here(( it is to many people inside, so I’m waiting outside, and it is cold. Didn’t expect such experience in a vegan place.

Disappointing experience - Edit
Went there a couple of times, usually waited too long for the server to take our order since the staff was talking to each other. The food is good but burgers have too much filling and sauce in them and it makes it hard to eat as it gets really messy. The biggest con is not being able to pay with credit card (like c'mon it's 2020 and I can't pay with card?), at least put it as a sign on the entrance door since many people don't have cash on them at all times. The biggest disappointment of this restaurant is that the staff is rather talking to each other than caring about their customers.
Read moreToday, after waiting for 30 minutes for our food I asked one of the staff why I hadn't received my order yet, the answer given to me after the server went to check it to the kitchen was that the order must had got lost. After telling her that since that happened we wouldn't be eating there, the server got rather angry and told me not to be offended. Was looking forward to that meal but this experience ruined any chances of going there back any time soon. I have no idea how the two servers at the counter hadn't noticed that we hadn't been served any food yet.

The Balan burger is unreal! Filled with a large veggie burger, cheese, and other spread/toppings. I was hoping it would fill me up since it was 9 euro (I got the fries too) and it did! Filling, absolutely delicious burger. Only thing was that I didn't eat at the restaurant--I showed up at 7pm on a Friday night and it was packed so I took it to go. Fast service. Desserts available too!

I had the Cuban sandwich which really was very very lovely. Staff in here very friendly just be mindful that they close at 9 and that means you have to be finished by 9. Also it’s cash only so make sure to have some with you before you go!

Honestly, Balans bistro does some of the nicest vegan food in Bratislava. Whether you choose a dish from the daily menu or perhaps a burger, hot dog or wrap, you can be sure you'll be getting a meal prepared with care and love. The Balans burger is one of the best vegan burgers I've ever tried and the mayo is to die for - I believe it's made with red lentils and it tastes scarily similar to the real stuff. I can't recommend Balans enough!
