tasty healthy vegan food (but also meat) - Edit

The best (vegan) cheesecake I've had so far in Cambodia. The bowls are good too, a bit pricy but good quality food. The restaurant has plenty of vegan options and some meat dishes as well. I would prefer all vegetarian/vegan but it does help to get your non veggie friends along. Very nice seating area upstairs. Good coffee with cashew milk. I like that they sell (home made) food stuffs like cashew cream and fermented products, even nutritional yeast etc. Good service, good location

Some winners - Edit

I brought my red-neck carnivore brother here, thinking he could have a chicken sandwich while I indulge in vegan. He found the menu description unappealing enough to pass. Why is it on the menu? Anyhow, their Siem Reap location is better in a lot of ways.

Pros: Vegan superfoods

Cons: Serves meat, Prices

fresh and healthy food - Edit

Food tasted great and fresh, although it was quite expensive for Cambodia. Great to find nice vegan food!
The earth bowl had too much salad and not enough other ingredients but still had good flavours. The raw chocolate and salted caramel cake was delicious.
The cafe was open and light and had a nice upstairs area.

Pros: great tasting vegan food, friendly staff

Cons: price

Best Western Vegan Food in Phnom Penh but not the best - Edit

The cafe smells strongly of cheese, which is offensive to me. Vegan bowls are good but cannot compare with the ones offered by its sister cafe Vibe Cafe in Siem Reap. Has 1 vegan to-go sandwich available. Has a lot of options that could be veganized but not offered as vegan. Wish staff could improve on English since the cafe mainly serves expats and tourists from the West.

Not for budget travellers - Edit

I´m sure the food must be amazing here because of the great reviews, but I had to leave this restaurant when I saw the prices on the menu. The same I did at Vibe in Siem Reap except there I had a latte (which was too small). I went here to get a baguette, because I wanted to have one once in Cambodia, but they didn´t have it anymore on their menu.

And once again I was disappointed that the vegan cakes on the menu were raw cakes. I´m a bit sick of the cashew creams and dates I get in Asia when all I want is a vegan cake.

Pros: Looked very nice and clean, The menu seemed great

Cons: Too expensive for budget travellers, There are cheaper veg restaurants in PP

SO HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - Edit

I eat here all the time, they have such a beautifully, creative menu to leave you wanting more.
I have tried so many dishes and I have never been let down.

The Cold Pressed Juices are the best by far in Phnom Penh, this is a true gem in "the charming city".

The staff are all so friendly and knowledgeable about the foods on offer.

Well done Backyard Team a true 5* STAR* place you have created.

Pros: Very VEGAN Friendly, Creative Clean Menu, STAFF, STAFF, STAFF

Cons: NON, NON, NON

My favourite place in Asia...! - Edit

I have a gluten allergy and I am lactose intolerant and this place had a lot of options for me.
I visited their other cafe, Vibe in Siem Reap and they told me about this place, thankfully, it saved my trip!
The staff were so helpful in making sure I had gluten free and they knew what it meant so had obviously had some great training.
Everything I had was delicious and it was very busy and had a buzz.

Pros: Gluten Free Options, Dairy Free Options, The Friendly Staff

Would be 5* if I could - Edit

This is a fabulous place set within its crisp white walls and surrounded in lush greenery everywhere, what a real wonderland.

All A/C which was a saviour in the hot Phnom Penh city heat.

Now that food, this may not be 100% Vegan but it's still the best Vegan food that i've had in Cambodia, there amazing Abundance Bowl was just what I needed, I could feel the goodness entering my body. Luckily somehow I had enough room for there RAW chocolate and salted caramel cheesecake and WOW what an explosion of flavour I really wasn't expecting anything like this in Cambodia.

This is a true gem of a place and a must visit.

Pros: Fabulous Vegan Food, Green, Green, Greenery everywhere

Cons: Non, Non, Non

So many vegan and healthy options! - Edit

It's such a shame this place can't get 5 stars as it does serve meat, but they have so many vegan options, it's the best place in the city. Everything is so fresh, thoughtful and obviously made with skill and love.
Go here if you are ever in Phnom Penh. They have also just opened a 100% vegan cafe - VIBE in Siem Reap.

Pros: Everything

Great find! - Edit

Very cute little place near the palace, lovely menu with so many options it was hard to choose! They have a fridge full of desserts and cold pressed juices that you can take home so I ended up eating some there and taking home even more stuff! They also sell packaged products like seeds, dried fruit, health powders etc.
The raw veg cheesecakes were delicious, just the right amount of sweetness and creaminess! They make chocolate truffles that are called protein bites (vegan!) and those were amazing. The raw brownies were pretty good. Green juices were good. The matcha latte was very bland though.
I wish I had enough time to come back and try their salads - it all sounded yummy!!
