Pretty good! - Edit
Thank goodness I was with friends so we could go in on a box of five donuts to take advantage of their weekly special and get a free scoop of ice cream. I was a little disappointed with the birthday cake ice cream though: it didn’t have enough cake and was heavier on sprinkles. The pomegranate orange creamsicle donut was all right. The texture was pretty cake-y and not bad for a vegan and gluten free donut shop. Maybe I should try a different ice cream flavor and one of their a sandwiches next time.

Finally gluten free vegan ice cream - Edit
I was so excited to find this place that I ate all my ice cream before I even thought about taking a picture. German chocolate cake ice cream I could actually eat - it doesn’t get better than that. And the nice server added a small amount of tiramisu ice cream on top for me!!

Good ice cream; not so good donuts - Edit
The staff here were very kind and helpful when we came in. The ice cream is delicious and I would definitely go back for that. However we tried several donuts and all of them were dry and tough.

Fantastic donuts! - Edit
We loved all of the donuts we got. Our favorites were the apple fritter (it was the best I've ever had), the french toast donut, and the cherry pie donut! Everything was incredible though and I highly recommend you check them out!

Paninis are great - Edit
Their dessert options are always good. Never tried paninis before until now. Caprese was super good. The pesto in it especially, and the cheese was good too. Bread was more like pita or flatbread and it was super greasy. Not sure if that's all the paninis or just this one. Was still fire though

Yummy icecream - Edit
Got the birthday cake and it was too good not to get. They use a spice cake instead of a regular white cake.

Weekend stop - Edit
Came here on a Saturday for the doughnuts due to the selection I saw on their website and from others. All they had was a simple selection of two sprinkle options, maple, powdered, and sugar cinnamon. I was expecting to find something creative but unfortunately not on a Saturday. The doughnuts were pretty small and a minimum of two dollars each.

I’m not a big donut person but these were pretty good. They also have beverage options. It’s a great location for getting dessert after dinner somewhere nearby.

Incredible vegan deserts - Edit
Babes is the best of all worlds. They have great donuts, amazing ice cream, all of it is vegan, and all at what I consider to be reasonably priced. The ice cream genuinely blew me away and I had a hard time believing that it was all vegan. So creamy and delicious, I will absolutely be back here.

Amazing selection and great staff - Edit
Love this place so much, it always impresses me!
Read moreI'm not sure how often they change their selections of offerings but every time I've come it's different. They are a sweet treat stop I must visit in town. Everything from ice cream to pastries to paninis to satisfy whatever level of hunger you have. The paninis leave a little to be desired I've only tried a few and they were pretty dry but still definitely edible. The staff are not always the friendliest but hey I don't like people that much either so that's ok! They have a good selection of ice cream flavors and their donut combinations always impress me with their creativity. It was my birthday when I stopped by the last time and I had to get the birthday cake ice cream which to me was on the chalkey side but I've definitely had worse before. I will of course continue to come back especially for the churros!!
Pros: Selection is always top tier, Filling options ice cream, pastries, sandwhiches , Clean and tidy
Cons: Street parking can be hard, Paninis can be dry, Staff aren't always the friendliest but helpful

Wandered in one day after eating lunch at The Veg and thought I would try the ice cream. Seriously good. Deliciously creamy. Brought some donuts home to share with the non vegan kids and their friends. They inhaled them. I didn’t share the ice cream, tho;). Really great place.

Amazing selection of vegan donuts! - Edit
Went here for the first time and the very helpful staff there helped me pick out 4 different kinds of donuts. I can vouch for all of them as I meant to get a pic when I first bought them, but I only managed to photograph the last two left. (I ordered 6 donuts. 2 of the Chocolate Sprinkle, 2 Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip, and one of each of the Creamy Lemon Curd Donut Hole and Maple Cruller.) I'll definitely be back as these were all a hit! Affordable prices as well, especially as far as vegan options go.

Vegan Ice Cream and Vegan Donuts - Edit
I recently went to Babes Ice Cream and Donuts in Sacramento. They are an all vegan ice cream parlor and donut shop. Kudos for being all vegan.
Read moreI didn't have any donuts yet did try a scoop of cookies and cream ice cream in a waffle cone. It had a coconut base. It was good.
They had a couple interesting flavors like birthday cake and cookie dough yet cookies and cream is a favorite so is my go to when possible to get it vegan.
Worth checking out for a dessert in Sacramento for vegans, vegetarians, omnivores and everyone. I would surely be back to try more of their delights.

Do-Donuts! - Edit
Babes offers a nice selection of treats, including donuts, donut holes, churros and ice cream. All are vegan and Gluten- free, and i was impressed by the confections, not the usual g-free texture. I tried some of the unusual flavors including chocolate-chip covered devils food, maple pecan, apple fitters, and cinnamon roll donut holes, as well as a cinnamon churro. Prices are reasonable compared to specialty bakeries in the Bay Area, and it was great to have so much still available at 630 pm ( though they are open til 9). Staff friendly and efficient. ( located half a block from Thai Basil, a wonderful find!)

Wow! - Edit
I eat dairy-free and my sister must eat gluten-free. Most GF baked goods really benefit from eggs, so we don’t typically have high expectations for treats we can both eat (except ones we bake ourselves).
Read moreWe were both delighted with what we got here: jelly-filled, glazed donut holes, creamy lemon-curd filled donut holes with (lots of) powdered sugar, maple cruller, and churro. We wish we had been greedier when we got down the road and realized how good everything was.
I took a video, but had to just save screenshots to share here.

Good donuts, challenging location - Edit
We tried the apple fritter, chocolate banana, and Ferrero Rocher donuts. We loved the Ferrero Rocher the best out of the three; it was a chocolate cake covered with hazelnut and chocolate frosting. Our server took the extra step to ask about allergies before serving us what we ordered. The chocolate banana tasted like a crispy banana bread. The fritter had a moist center with lots of apple pieces. It’s great to have a third vegan doughnut shop in the Sacramento area. Access was challenging. We live well out of the area, so this is a drive for us. We had to make the block a few times to find parking. Definitely worth hitting if you’re in the area. Plan on walking in from further out. And don’t blink on your first visit or you’ll miss it as you’re driving by. It’s a small frontage. Now we’ve been there we know what to look for.

Great ice cream! - Edit
I’ll say it a million times, vegan and gluten free is one of the worst tasting combinations, ever, in the history of food. That being said this place is surprisingly good. The donuts, though, still taste plainly dry and pale in comparison to real donuts with gluten ingredients, vegan or not. If my life sucked and I couldn’t eat gluten, this is where I would get desserts!

I don’t think you could tell the ice cream is vegan. I am so impressed with the flavor and the texture of the ice cream. I took my kids here and they absolutely loved the ice cream. It is their favorite ice cream and as soon as we walked out, they were already talking about coming back.

Tried pistachio (hella good), chocolate (bomb), mint chip (super minty...you better be really into mint), and cookies and cream. They were all good, but the cookies and cream was just plain magic because they weren’t shy with the cookies!
