Overhyped? - Edit
Despite being supportive of vegan restaurants, this place is not worth driving out of your way in my opinion. Maybe I came on a bad night?
Read moreFrom my perspective, this place still needs work: Our waiter was kind of rude during the entire experience. He was surprised I didn't order any drinks and kept on asking me if I wanted any throughout the night despite saying I was okay with just water.
Apart from this, he didn't check up on us during our meal if we needed anything else or for refills whatsoever. After eating, he kept us waiting at the counter to pay to count numbers for his previous clients... (maybe do that AFTER your current customers in front of you are ready to pay?).
Overall: Decent vegan-friendly food. Bland at most.
Verdict: I will not be returning. Disappointed.

Nous y sommes allés plusieurs fois, autant pour le brunch que pour le repas, et l’expérience peut varier beaucoup d’une fois à l’autre. Parfois la nourriture est bonne mais souvent ça laisse à désirer. Parfois le service est gentil et efficace, mais d’autres fois c’est atrocement lent et peu professionnel... c’est dommage car nous aimerions beaucoup que ça soit notre resto préféré, mais nous sommes déçus après nos visites la majorité des fois. Nous n’y retournons que parce que c’est vraiment proche.

We’ve had both dinner and brunch and enjoyed both very much. The poutine was incredible, best gravy we’ve ever had. We both had the Le P’tit dej for brunch and polished off our dishes. The chickpea omelet was light and fluffy, their homemade seitan sausage and bacon were delicious and the lentil pate was super flavourful.

I had brunch at Antidote. While the food was good and the service friendly, I was a little disappointed. I was expecting something more special upon seeing the menu and the comments. My dish was a little bland (but maybe I didn't make the best choice).

Best vegan spot in Montréal - Edit
We came here on a Tuesday night. Not too busy and got seated quickly. I got the big burger with poutine and my boyfriend got the Asian salad. Both SO delicious! And it’s so much food for the price. Will definitely be coming back.

In my personal opinion Antidote has the best veggie burger in Montreal. I’m not even that big on burgers, but it’s hard to resist getting one here. The service is always friendly. The spot calm and quiet. Plus they have an amazing selection of gin! Totally worth a metro ride to Hochelaga!

Amazing vegan restaurant! Nice setting, friendly staff, and delicious food. I had a great Mexican burger and my wife had the poutine. I don't like traditional poutine but this vegan version is absolutely fantastic! Oh, and tried their chocolate chip cookie and ordered two more to go.

Came here for Sunday brunch with a non-vegan friend. We both had the sweet breakfast combo (homemade yoghurt, fruit, toast with jam and a faux cretons spread, I think it was supposed to be). I couldn't finish my plate, I'd had a mocha with my meal and it was all too sweet. Sugar coma. But it was tasty and service was good. Spacious and cute interior. I would return.

This was my first real vegan indulgence since a year of crossing over and it was worth it! The potato’s weren’t fries but fresh well seasoned cubed potatoes which I appreciated and the gravy was yum! It’s a little bit of a walk out of the downtown but totally worth it!

J'aime blen le végé-party, sans gluten.
C’est un resto vegan et il y a de l’alcool. Le menu est très faux fast-food.
Le service sont courtois et les serveurs connaissent les ingrédients.
L’ambiance était nice et le décor très bien.

I really like the atmosphere although snobby people might wander in from time to time. The portions are big. The food is flavorful and varied. I had the burger and the patty is so good, they add something like rice and quinoa to give it that extra crunch. More recently I had the smoked meat and the "meat" was so flawless I had to look at it twice. Really not bad.

We went when they used to have a grocery section and thought it was ok but not great. Went back today since they changed it so the whole place is a restaurant/café and we absolutely loved it!

The pulled pork tacos were very good as well.
The only thing that was slightly disappointing was the poutine. If the potatoes and gravy had been hot instead of lukewarm it would have been perfect.
Can't wait to go back whenever we're in the area! :D

Everything is vegan, service is friendly. I tried the Mexican burger with bacon, it was a little dry but with vegenaise it was all fine. Cocktails are very good, since they offer a large range of gin.

I've known this place since the opening. Used to go there for the grocery store. They've changed it to Restaurant since.
Read moreAll my taste-buds are satisfied every time i chose a plate. I also have to add that I love the new Beer choices offered at the restaurant as well.
I also really liked the service, the girls were always polite and got my lunch fast.
If you are in the South/East-End of Montreal, it is a GREAT Restaurant to try. You will not be disappointed.

Ce matin j’ai été manger chez antidote avec mon copain et ce fut très décevant. La nourriture a pris du temps a arriver, puis elle était froide..le “creton” maison goutais la canelle..la saucisse semblais pas assez cuite..la serveuse étais bien gentille, mais elle n’est jamais venu nous voir pour demander si c’étais a notre goût..nous avons donc manger notre assiete froide ...42$ plus tard je ne recommande malheureusement pas cet endroit ..
