Amazing, authentic Asian cuisine. - Edit
I came here with a friend for lunch on a Sunday and had the place to ourselves at opening. Our server was very friendly and helpful with the menu. Food was served fast and everything we had was excellent.
Read moreThe deep fried vegan egg rolls were delicious for starters, served with multiple dipping sauces. Even though they were fried, they were not very oily, which was a nice touch.
I ordered the fine rice with shredded veggies, tofu loaf and bbq. It was about as perfect as a entree could be. The rice bed was fresh and it was topped with a variety of tastes, from tangy/sweet (bbq) to savory (tofu loaf) to slightly acidic (veggies). The bbq reminded me of something I once had at a vegetarian restaurant in New York City, but until this, had never found anywhere else.
My friend ordered the vegan pho with Vietnamese-style vegan beef. The large bowl was big enough to share and was very flavorful.
The only thing I'd recommend is that they make their menu more specific in differentiating between what's vegan and non-vegan. Some items have vegan in the name, although most don't. With that said, some options are vegan, but you wouldn't know for sure unless you asked. Luckily our server was very helpful and honest in telling us what was or wasn't vegan.
The steamed buns are NOT vegan, just a heads up.
Aside from nit-picking the menu labels, I loved the authentic Asian cuisine and friendly service. I will definitely be back!
Pros: Authentic food, diverse menu, knowledgeable staff
Cons: Menu could be more specific

Cashew Mock Pork dish - Edit
On the recommendations here, we had dinner tonight at An Hy Quan. I had the cashew mock pork. The pork was very good, but the cashew sauce made the dish. I highly recommend. The missus had the mock fish in a clay pot. The fish was wrapped in kelp. She loved it, We will be returning soon.

Delicious Vietnamese Food! - Edit
We stopped here on a road trip and are so glad we did. We ordered the Papaya Salad which is crisp and fresh and full of flavor as well as the mock pork with cashew which had an incredibly flavorful sauce. Also the stir fry rice noodles. The portions are huge and tasty.

Each dish we had carried its own distinct flavor. We had three in our party and were sharing dishes. Our server asked if any of us were vegan then helped us replace a dish that wasn’t vegan.

Love Everything! - Edit
My husband and I found An Hy Quan about a month after they opened, during our first venture into vegetarianism. We’ve been back at least once a week ever since! We love everything on the menu and the owners!! We are now both vegan and about 90% of the menu is vegan-friendly! So many options and not a single disappointment among them!!

Exceeded Expectations - Edit
I was passing through Albuquerque on my way back to KY. I decided to stop here, and I'm so glad I did! The food was absolutely delicious, and the portions were large. I ordered the Pad Thai, and my mother and I shared an order of the vegan egg rolls. We both agreed they were the best egg rolls we've ever had! The customer service was marvelous as well. I can't wait to stop here again the next time I'm passing through!

One of ABQ's best - Edit
We've eaten here a half dozen times (I have no idea or excuse why it's taken me this long to submit a review!) and have always had great meals. Mostly vegan and all vegetarian, An Hy Quan is some of the best Asian food in NM. Really nice owner (and his Mother) make delicious authentic Vietnamese food. The menu has been slightly revamped to include more vegan items and be more clear about what's vegan. Love this place.

Happy Travelers - Edit
We were driving through on our way home to Iowa and found this place using the app. We were close so stopped and were very happy we did. The vegan eggrolls were hot, crispy and yummy. The coconut noodles were so fresh and flavorful and the vegan pork with cashews and rice was delicious. Service was fast and friendly; the food was prepared quickly; prices were very reasonable and portions large. We will stop again on our next trip to the southwest!

Gotta love how many dishes are on the menu. Food is cooked to order but arrives very quickly. It's so nice to eat Asian food without all of the fat and salt. Juices, too.

Great restaurant for everyone! - Edit
I really liked this restaurant! I'm vegan, but my family eats meat, and they all enjoyed their meals here, as well!
Read moreI had the vegan french onion soup, an egg roll (which don't actually contain egg), and the cashew mock pork, which was phenomenal! I also stole a bit of the basil tofu (yum!) and the salted tofu (which had a great texture). The entrees are all very generously sized!
The first thing the waiter asked is if anyone was vegan, and told me that most of the menu is vegan (some, but not all, of the mock meats contain egg, the wontons, and the steamed buns also contain egg).
I really enjoyed this restaurant and will come back if I'm ever back in ABQ!
Pros: Mostly vegan, Friendly staff, Yummy!!!

The Best Vegetarian/Vegan Restaurant in New Mexico - Edit
The only complaint I have about An Hy Quan is that I did not find it sooner. This is a jewel of a restaurant. Great food. Great Service. A LARGE selection of dishes. A screen on the wall with revolving pictures of some of the food, which is helpful with ordering. But its a small part of the extensive menu. The owner, Bill is relaxed, friendly and helpful with describing the options, many which are his mother's original recipes. The food, which is primarily vegan (ask about egg being in any of the pasta) is absolutely delicious with just the right amount of spices and cooked to perfection. The fresh spring rolls with the peanut sauce are a perfect start to any meal. The soups are amazing. You can enjoy a great meal substitute or just have an abundance of crisp, tasty vegetables and tofu. If you live in Albuquerque, it is worth the trip to the east side. If you are travelling through, it is easy to get to from 1-40. Enjoy! I have been a vegan for over twenty years and am a vegan cookbook writer....and I highly recommend eating at An Hy Quan.

Amazing food, Great Atmosphere - Edit
I'd been meaning to try this restaurant out since seeing it open last year, as I am vegan and my sister vegetarian. Once I saw the "Vegan" signs put up we decided to give it a go.. Wow, we were not disappointed! Even the most meat-loving omnivore would be sure to enjoy their food! I got the rice noodle dish with veggies and the tofu spring rolls. Everything was so fresh and I love how there are healthy, low fat options. Oftentimes, asian places like to smother everything in oil and salt, but An Hy Quans is not one of them! Our dishes were the perfect balance of flavors, everything was delicious. We will definitely be back again. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It's also a cute restaurant inside, it's open, cool (temperature-wise), and has a nice decor. Can't recommend it enough.

awesome place! - Edit
The service is awesome. I got my food super fast, and it was also some of the best I've ever had. I got the stir fried vegetables and tofu with rice. The menu has so many options I had to ask the server what I should get because I just couldn't make a choice. It's mostly vietnamese food, but they also have some Thai and curry varieties. The pricing was about the same as any restaurant, I think my dish was around $8, but it was a good portion size for the price. Overall, I would say this is an excellent restaurant with amazing customer service. Like I said the server really helped to differentiate between vegan/ vegetarian dishes, and also was just very friendly and passionate about the restaurant.

Wonderful! - Edit
The menu is extensive! As a vegan, this made it difficult to make a choice, as that is such a rare option. So I just asked if there was a spicy lemongrass tofu dish I could have... No idea what I ended up with, but it was excellent! Next time I will get a couple things and plan for leftovers!
