Best food in Caribbean! - Edit
OMG yum! I looked at the pictures of this place for 2 months before we got to St John and couldn't wait to go try the food. Every single thing was absolutely delicious! We got the daily special and it had such a great variety of different items and each one was amazing. The portion was so huge that I actually got two meals out of it. The owner, Lang, is so interesting, warm and accommodating. He and his family have a long history of living in the Caribbean which is fascinating to hear. Whether you are vegan or not, do not miss eating his food! We will probably eat there every day for the time we are in St John!

Yummy local food - Edit
We visited St. John just for a few hours. This place is really tucked away. Our taxi driver knows the owner(everyone knows each other in this island) and took us there and gave us instructions how to get taxi to go back.
Read moreThe food and vibe is all local. The chef owner is a looong time vegan and has opened since 2004. Their food is delicious. The portions are large.
It is probably the only vegan restaurant in the island.

Delicious - Edit
Little spot tucked away. Great vibe with locals hanging out and the owner was kind and friendly. Got here around 2:30 on Friday and the plates were sold out so we had fast food options. We ordered the veggie burger with a side of fries and a tamarind juice. Food took about 40 minutes but it was delicious and the owner threw in the cauliflower bites which were incredible. Large portions and great flavor. I wish we were able to try the soul food plates.

Hearty delicious Food - Edit
Real, Caribbean wholesome vegan food. Each day they prepare a "main" and several sides. Two of us ordered a "large" to share and it was the perfect amount of food for 2 people for lunch. On this day, it was a hefty portion of Caribbean-flavored tofu, surrounded by forbidden (black) rice, cooked cabbage/broccoli, lentil patties, fried plantains, and a rasta pasta. Appears to be frequented more by locals than tourists, not surprising being that it's off the beaten path, but SO worth going to! Don't be alarmed at the location, it's high on quality and culture, low on elegance. Would definitely go again!

Great local option - Edit
We got lost looking for this place, but were glad we persisted.

Go Early! - Edit
Found this place on our last day and wish we got there sooner. They seem to have plates of Caribbean food starting at noon but get there early because they run out. Had burgers and sweet potato fries which were still really good. Drinks as big as my head! Baked goods including banana bread as well. Location is currently wrong on Happy Cow but we have submitted an update. Correct location on Apple Maps. Called Amore Arowako private ride shares on google maps.

Good veggie burger - Edit
Small menu offering different vegan fast food type items. Realized afterword that they may have had some Caribbean food (heard someone order a small plate- these items weren’t on the menu). Veggie burger had plantains, beets, mayo and was really good.

Best Vegan food on St. John - Edit
Was tipped off to this place by a local & became shocked when I realized it wasn’t on Happy Cow. Making this review & listing as a general PSA to my fellow STJ vegans!
