I liked the dessert, main food needs improvement - Edit
I ate here in October 2018 and tried the veggie black bean burger with a side of mac n cheese and greens. I was really excited to try this restaurant because of the southern soul foods they offered. It was underwhelming, and I wasn't a fan of the dish. I enjoyed the fried oreos and ice cream.

Really Good - Edit
Of my three vegan meals in Vegas this was my favorite. As some said the seitan does not have a great consistency, but the flavors make up for it.
Read moreEverything we has was delicious, if they could get a more "toothy" feel with the chicken and ribs seitan and keep the flavors it would be perfection. But it was still damn good.
Pros: Flavors, Nice Staff, Reasonable prices
Cons: Seitan needs some work for consistency

Needs Improvement - Edit
We were there a few weeks ago and were pretty disappointed. The concept is great and I was really excited to see unique items on the menu- like the Banana Blossoms "Fish N Chips". We ordered the Cackalacky Southern Combo, Robert's Famous Fish n Chips, Scallopz Po Boy and Fried Pickles. The Po Boy was definitely the best- but not great. I had high hopes for the Banana Blossoms, but they just lacked flavor. The Southern Combo was the worst though- they really need to improve the texture of their seitan, it was really some of the worst I have ever had- extremely rubbery and the flavor was terrible. The rice, beans and greens all need some work too. I wish them the very best of luck and I hope they can continue to improve their menu.

Still developing - Edit
I believe this menu still has some wrinkles to be ironed out. The parts that come from No Butcher are good, I have a slight issue with the reheating methods of some.. but the main issue I have is with the consistency and color of some menu items. Grey spectrum foods are okay when you expect them but otherwise it can disturb you. Jeff @ homegrown smoker Portland has set a standard for vegan bbq.

Funny, different tastes. I was very disappointed when I went to Homegrown Smoker. I thought they had the textures and looks down, but the food lacked flavor.

Good value southern food - Edit
My partner and I shared the southern combo a la carte, fish n' chips with side of cheesy mac (complimentary cornbread), and half order of dirty south loaded fries for lunch for just under $25 (incl. tax). Plenty of food without feeling overly stuffed! The fish is made from banana blossoms and we enjoyed how juicy it was (plus the housemade tartar is awesome). The rib sauce was tasty. Highly recommended highlights were the loaded fries and mac n' cheese. Plenty of housemade sauces if you want to add heat or different flavors. Owner and staff was very nice. Food came quickly and would come again. This place is tucked inside a food court and needs your business!

The best in Vegas! - Edit
We are so glad we found this place! It’s similar to a food truck with short order food, but inside of a building. There is a place to sit at tables and eat your wonderful food. It’s all vegan and about half of the menu items are gluten free! The owners (or the 2 working there at the time) were extremely friendly. Inexpensive and delicious food. Please go support them! There was no one else eating there at the time on a Saturday afternoon.

Fried soul food... Mhhhhh - Edit
This place is inside a building that has multiple vendors so make sure you don't pass it! Me and my boyfriend got the ribs with baked beans and mac n cheese, and the corn dog with beans and rice and mac n cheese. Then we splurged on FRIED OREOS WITH ICE CREAM. Oh my lord, they were so delicious and the food was filling. definitely going back to try more off their menu.

Was a little hard to find at first, but worth the hunt! I went in for the buffalo chicken wings. I also had the Big Booty burger and it was amazing. Definitely try out their deep fried oreos!

Best BBQ Vegan Joint Ever - Edit
I had not one, but two orders of the crackalacky ribz because they are that good. The greens are perfectly prepared and addictively delicious, the Mac and cheese and Cole slaw is bland (unless you add one of their many bbq sauces to the m&c) so leave those alone, and the prices are reasonable and service fast even when busy. Don’t forget the deep fried Oreos
