The burger was beyond burned. Black!
And I don't know if I got a peace of meat by accident since the guy making the food was handling real meat.

We felt lucky to have this because when we went to Asoka, he said he wasn't serving food, just selling the frozen stuff. He directed me to Alter Ego. It was pretty horrifying when I saw the guy weighing out raw dead animals to the lady in front of me. But he assured me the vegan food was totally separate. Anyway, I got a cheeseburger, basket of fries, husband got 3 spicy tacos. I went outside to wait with my husband and our doggie, then watched for a while as he was cooking the burger. Then the taco meat. Then cutting away browned avocado to put some on the tacos. Then warming the tortillas. Etc. Etc. My burger sat there getting cold while he slowly prepped the tacos. Finally, I took the burger outside, then the tacos. The fries would be ready in a few minutes he said. Literally the slowest fast food on Earth. In the end, yea, the burger was very good. Husband said the tacos were good, and unlike most food in Portugal, they actually were spicy but not hot. (9eu each) The fries turned out to be good too, but I lost count of the number of times I had to walk back to the stall.

Pros: Very tasty food.

Cons: Waiting and waiting, food not hot.

Não é um restaurante vegan, é um restaurante de carne que viu uma oportunidade de negócio na comida vegan. Chega a ser constrangedor esperar por comida vegan quando toda a envolvência remete para um sítio onde se celebra a morte dos animais.

Não deveria existir - Edit

A partir do momento em que o dono do restaurante tem um restaurante de carne ao lado, não é vegan. O staff passa de uma vitrine para a outra, estando na caixa da parte da carne e depois na parte vegan. A luz que nos dão para sabermos quando a comida está pronta tem um desenho de dois cutelos (utensílios de carne). É retorcido e sadico, parece que é a gozar com o veganismo, não podia haver pior conjugação. (Queria dar 1 estrela mas como é “vegan” não há essa possibilidade, daí as 2 estrelas)

Food is good but…they chopp meat just there - Edit

Tacos were tasty, well served, staff were nice, however it really does not make sense to have a vegan spot and then have people chopping meat just in front of the cashier, in fact the cashier is both for the vegan taco place and for the picanha place… no vegan would ever go there.

Unhappy mix - Edit

Even though I knew it belongs to a traditional (non-vegan) restaurant group I went to try it.
When ordering at the check-out there's a butcher shop window in front of us, which makes the experience unpleasant from the start.
The staff is attentive and confirms that the menu is vegan. I asked for tacos and not all items on the menu were available. In short, we're left with a lack of trust because of the shared preparation countertops.

Good fastfood - Edit

It is fastfood not haute cuisine. That said , it is at least in my opinion pretty good vegan fastfood. We had burgers spicy and “no steak” tacos and even the meat eaters were very happy. So if you’re in the area, I’d recommend it, certainly for lunch.
