Love this place!

Nashville hot chicken is so good! Really stands out in the sea of varieties I’ve tried on this sandwich. Super spicy.

Great food & service!

Stopped in before a concert and had the burger. Not only was it delicious, but the service was incredible. Highly recommend!

Quick and delightful

Not only was the food tasty, but when asked they were able to provide detailed info about what menu options were gluten free. They had general gf options as well as options that would not be suitable for someone with celiac disease due to a shared fryer. That was really nice. Vibes were good and some of their seats twirl which was fun.

Everything is delicious if you can take the heat!

The food here is incredible. The seitan is superb, not chewy but the perfect texture. Beware however that the cheesesteak is spicy! (At least for a white person 😅) The Nashville Hot is obviously marked as hot but the cheesesteak is not, honestly my only complaint and it was still delicious, just wanted to know what I was signing up for 😂. We had to order a second shake to get through the heat. Chocolate shake and vanilla shake were both good. We also ordered the Korean BBQ fries which were again cooked excellently.

Pros: All vegan, Vibes, Completely nut free!

Cons: Unmarked spicy

So much flavor and heat!

The cheesesteak, Nashville hot, and Korean barbecue fries I tried with my friend were fantastic. The unexpected heat in the cheesesteak made it so much better than a typical one and the crispiness of the Nashville hot really made for a great bite. I would love to come back to try more food, especially the milkshakes!

Pros: Good tasting food, Many options, Friendly staff

Consistently delicious vegan junk food for all

Algorithm has been our household's go-to "can't be bothered to cook tonight" spot for fantastic vegan junk food since they opened. Matt, the owner, often works the register and clearly puts a lot of heart and thought into creating a menu full of unique-yet-classic meals that would satisfy even the most skeptical meat-loving omnivore. When not making recommendations or taking orders, he makes the rounds to check in with customers and see if they need anything. I'm there enough that I've ordered and enjoyed almost the entire set menu, so I usually go for whatever special item's on offer, since those come and go. Today I had the Manchurian Chili Carrot Dog ("House-made Carrot "Not Dog" topped with Lentil & Pea Manchurian Chili, Raita and Cucumbers on a Sweet Potato Roll") and the Dirty Chai Milkshake - the perfect lunch combo. I'm also a huge fan of the Nashville Hot, the Cheesesteak (might be my favorite vegan cheesesteak in the city!), the Breakfast Sandwich, and the Korean BBQ Fries. And the sweet treats (usually some sort of decadent and inventive cheesecake are never not delightful). I also appreciate the free cold water and the emphasis on compostable to-go containers. And shoutout to Cody and the rest of the lovely staff there. Despite being near the big intersection of Passyunk, 5th, and Bainbridge (across from Philly Aids Thrift), the front of Algorithm could be a little easy to walk by without noticing, but you'd be a fool to miss it!

Interesting flavour combos

On my way in a customer was on their way out and recommended the Market Grain bowl, so I had that. The flavour combos were pretty good to the extent that I would try it out at home myself.

Pros: Friendly staff, Friendly customers, Big portions

Great vibe and food

A small cafe with a fun punky vibe and fantastic sandwiches. We tried the hot chicken and breakfast sandwiches. The hot chicken was actually spicy-hot and delicious. The person taking our order was so sweet. Just a great experience overall!

Pros: Great flavors, Good vibe, Super nice employees

Delicious vibrant food

We were doing a tour of walk-in vegan restaurants in Philly. Big-name places were all full. We walked into Algorithm, ordered some sandwiches and floated up off our chairs. Crunchy fried ingredients. Including the bread, which stays crispy in the mouth but not fatty at all. A fine range of consistencies and flavors. The Nashville Hot is seriously hot but full of its own flavors. I’m not vegan but loved this place. Friendly and fun staff too.

Pros: Food full of flavor, Does not make you feel anything missing

Bomb Food, Cool Staff

Such positive vibes and such amazing food! I got the cheesesteak with fries and a lime aquafresca. The cheesesteak was perfect, savory and fresh. The fries were hot and crispy with incredible sauces, both homemade. The drink was refreshing and delicious. The service was by far the best I've had at a vegan restaurant in this city. Will come here every chance I get!

Pros: Delicious street food, Incredible service , Warm vibe

Delicious Reuben sandwich!

I also got the cheesecake which I never get to eat anymore since I stopped eating dairy. It’s new. You got a try it out.

Pros: Variety of vegan tacos , “Cheesecakes” and “Cheesecake!”, Some southern style food too.

Cons: Delicious Reuben sandwich!

Gobbled down The Gobbler

Friendly service and everything I got was delicious — "cheese" fries and The Gobbler, which is a seasonal seitan-and-cranberry hot sandwich that ought to be a permanent staple. Wasn't cheap (came out to over $20) but a less hungry person could have split it. Will be back to try the rest of their 100% vegan comfort food.

Pros: Entirely vegan, Good vibes

Cons: Not the cheapest
