Incredibly good vegan Tapas! The wine was also excellent and service friendly. Will definitely go again, the vegan salmon was the best I've ever tasted!

My favorite bar

Really good bar!!
Drinks are excellent and the food is DELICIOUS! I love it!! I highly recommend the Patatas bravas. They come with an aioli sauce that goes so well with the dish!!

The prices are fair. The service is great, staff is very kind and the place is nice and cozy.

4 stars only because they don't take reservations and the place is small.
I can understand a small business not taking reservations because no-shows can do a lot of damage to business. I wish this could be solved by charging fees for no-shows rather than not offering reservations at all. Several times I thought about going there, but it involved crossing the city and I ended up giving up on the idea because I didn't want to travel there and find out there wouldn't be any spots available.

Pros: Great food, Great service, Fair prices

Cons: No reservations

Love the tapas style food - not the price point

Alaska Bar is fully vegan and a gem of a place; with the kitsch design, you end up looking around the decor and loosing yourself in the various fun posters, cushions, vases etc.

The bar / restaurant has mostly smaller tables and the menu offers various different small dishes. It's great for trying out a variety of different foods, but the price quickly adds up.
We started with 5 dishes between 2 of us and then ordered more. We particularly liked the tortilla and so we ordered it twice. I also liked the croquetas but at 3.50 Euro each, we tried only one of the flavours. It would be great if they had an option of say 5 dishes for 12 Euro or so.

The drinks menu is also good and for the first time I tried and actually liked a whiskey sour.

The service was friendly, but yeah, you have to be assertive and just grab their attention when you can or go up to the bar to order or pay.

Pros: Small dishes - so you can try a variety of tastes, Independent, fully vegan, Interesting decor

Cons: Slightly expensive

Fun, kitschy interior and otherwise underwhelming

3,5⭐️
Me and my friends liked the bread with the aioli and the crema catalana. I also liked the gnocchi. The tortilla was ok. Patatas bravas were ok. Olives were ok. The pa amb tomàquet could have used more salt and pepper which we didn’t have on the table. The cauliflower croqueta had a very strange taste none of us liked. Strangely dessert-y. Getting it taken off of the bill was not easy.

Service was slow, inattentive and poorly coordinated. I almost felt like I had to beg for their attention. The food me and my friends ordered was brought to us at completely different times, meaning I had finished my gnocchi while 2 of my friends were still waiting for their food. Meanwhile the table next to us got their food. One of my friends was pissed that she asked for a candle in the crema catalana (as it was my birthday) and the staff forgot and brought it only after she reminded them.

I looove this place!

Alaska Bar is a must visit in Berlin. The atmosphere is super relaxed and the decor of the restaurant unmatched! I've visited two times and shared the tapas. I recommend a mix of vegetables tapas and fried tapas, as the fried ones tend to be a little heavy and salty. The fried "fish" sandwich was undoubtedly the best tapa. And remember to book a table!

Couldn’t believe how good it was

My taste buds exploded here, it was soo good. We were a table of 6 vegans, we were all very impressed. 10/10 I would come back here every time I visit Berlin!

Astonishingly good tapas

Just amazing, some of this food. Busy tapas bar vibe (we were recommended to book in advance). There were two vegan dishes that were just astonishing in flavour, and in how they emulated non-vegan textures: the homemade mozzarella, and the "cod bacalao" with millefeuille potatoes. Omg. Just promise me you'll order those when you go there.

disrespect

Horrible horrible service. I do not recommend this place unless you like being spoken to like you’re incompetent. The waitress rolled her eyes at me and spoke to me like I have done something wrong. We were three people sitting outside and informed the staff that we are expecting another person. They informed us that no more than two people are actually allowed to sit at the outside tables, but they made an exception for us being three people, which we understand completely. So we asked if the table next to us frees up can we sit across two tables, to which the waitress said we must check with her first. We did check with her and were met with the most rudeness I’ve ever experienced from restaurant staff. And I was trying to be so polite. She spoke to me with such an undermining tone and made me feel so uncomfortable. I will never return to this place despite the food being great. A word of advice, if you want returning customers treat people with kindness and a little more respect.

Tortilla amazing - vegan foi gras weird

Sooo it was super crowded in here… but because I was a solo traveller I was seated at the bar, which was fine!

Lovely Spanish servers which made it very authentic.

The Spanish omelette/tortilla was amazing but I wasn’t keen on the vegan foi gras. Was like a very rich pate texture and taste.

Nice place though!

Delicious food, fun place

I'd say that the tapas are pretty unique and incredibly delicious, also filling. I love the coziness and the interior of the place. Vegan by heart. You should reserve though.

Yummy!

I grew up in Spain as a child and have always had a love of Spanish tapas, I have not had croquetas for years and their home made ones here, although much bigger than I expected were absolutely incredible. One jalapeño and one cauliflower, yum yum yum

I take everyone here!

Love this place, and I take every Berlin visitor here! It's super popular, so you have to book a table a bit in advance, especially for weekends. Quirky and punk interior, I discover something new every time :)

If you're here only once, you have to order:
- the patatas bravas
- the croquetas
- the salmon on toast

Also a good place to take vegan-curious people imo!

Pros: Patatas bravas, Fun interior

Cons: Slow (and slightly unfriendly) service sometimes

Pros: Karottenlachs , Einrichtung , Musik

Cons: Service und Reservierungspolitik , Wein, Romanaherzen

Delicious Tapas in Berlin

This establishment is a gem. Tasty tapas, delicious drinks, lively atmosphere - and the entire menu is plant-based. Will say that you should book a reservation in advance, especially for larger parties.

Best Spanish vegan in Berlin

Oh my god, speechless. The cashew "foie gras" is out of this world. Also the Spanish omelette is a must try. Service could be a bit friendlier... But I will swallow my pride and go back, and then swallow the croquetas.

Cozy, punk, charming

This place is just legit. The owner is warm and the food is great - a real tapas menu in the heart of Neukölln. Great wine list, jaw dropping garlic aioli, spicy salty perfect olives - it's lovely.

Pros: Spicy olives, Patatas bravas, Vinho verde

Cons: Milanesa (too big and too tough), Hard to find the menu online

Very rude owner

The host who was present was very rude from the get go and seemed very upset, perhaps they weren't having a good day. Right before we left the host put on music on an absurd volume and disappeared behind the counter before we could thank her for her time.

It's too bad really, I've eaten here twice before but this was really off putting.

Cons: Rude host

Many different tasty plates available to share with friends 💙

Went here with a couple of friends and we shared an obscene amount of small plates, everything was quite tasty and I especially loved the patatas bravas. They also had Shirley temples on the menu which I haven’t had in years and was very good! I think the strict time limit for seating means you don’t get the super relaxed vibe of sharing tapas for some hours, especially since getting the food can take quite a while when it’s busy. But I feel visiting here is worth it because there is a LOT of choice, everything is vegan, and tasty!

delicous food, prices were normal/expensive/reservation needed

The tapas were really good, I recommend the patatas! If you want to sit inside (or even outside): make a reservation! We were lucky to still get a seat outside but only because we arrived early in the evening! The prices are normal for a completely vegan/ hip bar/restaurant but still on the expensive side nonetheless.
Portion size varied and some portions were too small for the price! Look at the pictures to get an idea what to order!

Pros: good food, service was kind/quick, nice ambience

Cons: a little expensive , reservation needed

Underwhelming

Highly underwhelming.
And to be fair, I will mention that the patatas bravas were good. For everything else, the following applies: good photos for Instagram are more important than taste.
The concept of the 2-hour time slots doesn't work if you're not served 3/4 hours before time is up, but you're thrown out VERY rude- and punctually. Thank god, there are plenty of vegan alternatives in Neukölln! Never again!

Pros: close to Hermannplatz, in Berlin, speak English

Cons: Disliked the noise, Disliked the service, most of the foods quality is below average
