Lovely meal, food wise and vibe wise!

De vegan opties waren voldoende gevarieerd en gaven een volwaardig alternatief, gelijk aan de niet vegan gerechten.

Really good find, dog friendly

They do a vegan mezze platter, Egan ploughman's, vegan brownie or ice cream, but I had the vegan roast option, complete with Yorkshire puddings. Really good portion size, roast potatoes were very tasty .
We sat in the beer garden at the rear which was very secluded. Dog friendly in the bar as well as the garden. Most of the tables inside had been reserved so book if you want an indoor table on a Sunday.

Pros: Vegan herbivore loaf was good, lots of fresh veg, Vegan Yorkshire pud was great, Lots of gravy, always a plus

Tasty variety

I took a large group of 14 to Battle on a visit to Battle Abbey and with 5 GF and just me looking for GF Vegan I wanted to find something that would suit everyone, and this was the place! They had quite a few Vegan options and quite a few GF option and a handful that overlapped so I could eat. I went with new potatoes which were lovely and the "garlic butter greens" which were Vegan-on-request (unfortunately omitting the butter also omitted the garlic, so they were quite plain, but gave a little green variety to balance my potatoes). If I'd been looking for something heartier, they had two sizes/versions of a Mediterranean platter with hummus topped with seeds and various sides.

Everyone else raved about their food, so it was a hit with the group.

All the other gluten-free folks were very happy, though there was some trading things around to match up favorites. They had gluten free bread/buns available. (Note: it is "no gluten ingredients" rather than a thorough "gluten-free"; I didn't inquire about shared frying etc since I wasn't opting for fried foods like the chips or falafel.)

Pros: lots of options, different flavor profiles, friendly staff

Vegan roast

Excellent vegan roast dinner with Beyond meat. Absolutely lovely Sunday dinner on a sunny afternoon in the garden. Very attentive staff who went out of their way to make us welcome. Also dog friendly

Really Surprised

After visiting Battle Abbey we walked over to see what they had on the menu. Really surprised to see so many options. The wife prefers not to have the usual burger option and chose a starter arancini (asparagus, pea and lemon), while I had the the beyond sausage baguette with chips.

Pros: More vegan options than you’d normally find

Cosy pub with lovely large garden

We had a lovely dinner here and was very surprised to see so many vegan and gluten free options on the menu! We shared the mezze platter with some chips which was delicious, the platter was full of beautiful olives, sundried tomatoes, hummus, falafels, sugar snap peas and some GF flatbread it was so good! Too full for the sorbet for dessert, we will just have to go back!

Pros: Overlooking the historic Battle Abbey, Lovely garden outside, Friendly staff
