Buena comida y muy amables / Good vegan food, gentle people - Edit

Brown rice with vegetables very tasty, spicy, and a good rice/veggies proportion. I even was offered vegan chocolate cake that wasn't in the menu, so perfect.

Perfect lunch spot hidden away - Edit
I took my vegetarian/ omnivore family here and we all loved it! We got the gazpacho, pimientos de padrón, queso regional, and spinach croquettes to start. The vegan options were clearly marked on the menu and the server was extremely helpful. I got the pisto was which really flavorful and filling. It’s a tiny and crowded spot so consider calling ahead, but I’d definitely recommend!

There weren't many vegan options in Santiago de Compostela and right when I started worrying about where would I have lunch, I found this wonderful hidden restaurant with many vegetarian and vegan options. Had a chickpea salad and spinach bites. Delicious!

Tienen opciones vegetarianas y algunas veganas. Lo que pedí estaba rico, pero uno de los platos con sello vegano eran las fajitas, a las que les pusieron queso a parte para acompañar, algo que me parece de mal gusto. Repetiré, pero el personal no es amable.

Charming little restaurant in a backyard between two streets, accessible through a tiny alley. Outdoor terrace. Very friendly staff. A great discovery after walking the Camino de Santiago and suffering through the lack of veggie options on the way.

Cute hideaway - Edit
This place was difficult to find as others have stated but very cute when found! I had a filling lentil dish that was a very large portion - 8 euro with a small coke. My friends had seafood which was more expensive and smaller portions. Only about 8 vegetarian/vegan options but that is much better than most restaurants in the city. Kitchen closes at 4:30. Very nice little spot right off of some busy streets. Bathrooms available.

The location is lovely, tucked down a little a side street. The waiter was very understanding and the menu presents a njce variety of healthy vegan options. We went with the tasty lentil soup to start followed by plates of rice and vegetables. Food is nice standard Galician food.

Great location, delicious food - Edit
I knew about this place before I arrived in Santiago thanks to Happy Cow, and after a week of compromising my diet in wayside places while walking the Camino, it was such a relief to find this place on my first night in town, to have a proper meal and celebrate the achievement of getting here. The location is brilliant, though you'll need the street map to find it as it's between two main shopping streets and looks like a dead end alley from either end. It's worth the hunt, as it's quieter here than the main drag, and blissfully cool because of the high walls either side. Host was absolutely delightful, and when I was struggling with the Spanish/Galego menu brought out an English translation to help me! I had a delicious ratatouille, and the best tiramisu I've ever tasted in my life. I even got to try the famed local oruja (firecracker strong brandy) in my coffee at the end of the night, and 2 courses + wine + coffee came to less than 15 Euros. Fantastic stuff! I'd have gone back in my few days there but he was shut the next evening (Sunday) so I never got the chance.

incredible food, loving atmosphere - Edit
We found this place thanks to happy cow!! Thanks to the previous reviewer for the advice. The main alleyways are lined with seafood restaurants with very few choices. This place has a half dozen vegan adjustable options and we tried gazpacho, eggplant and zucchini with rice (rice nothing special), and lentil soup (heaven). All were delicious.

A great option for vegans in Santiago - Edit
We stumbled upon this restaurant whilst walking through a small alley. We took a look at the menu and saw several items marked 'V', and after checking with the manager, discovered they were vegan. This is quite surprising in this type of restaurant (full of locals and not too touristy) and the manager was fully aware of veganism. There were 8 or 9 options that could be had as'raciones' (for two to share or as a main) and some tapas (slightly smaller but still generous). Really good home cooking, we had the pisto with rice, pimientos de padron, and lentejas (lentils) cooked in the Gallego style.
Read morePrices were good for the size of the portions - between 3.50-8.00 euros. Highly recommended.
Pros: Vegan items lablelled, Outdoor seating, Helpful and knowledgeable staff
