Minimal vegan options - Edit
Breakfast buffet was poor but manageable. Hot options were veg and sometimes beans but the spoons were also used for meat sausages. Signs displaying allergens changed, one day the none vegan sign (milk/eggs) swapped to the bread I had the day before. Had vegan alpro yoghurt though.
Read moreDinner- we didn’t even try (no marked vegan options) as I asked could the veggie options (2) be vegan and they said oh all 3 are vegan including the pizza. I said oh thought the pizza had mozzarella? ‘Oh yeah it does’. So didn’t fill me with confidence. Went to the Octant in Furnas and had a lovely experience with separate vegan menu so would also stay there next time instead.
Pros: Hotel is beautiful
Cons: Cross contamination, Not many options, Breakfast/dinner staff weren’t that helpful

A Terra at Hotel Octant - Edit
The restaurant in the hotel Octant has a very nice atmosphere, the staff is super helpful and friendly. Vegan options are a bit limited, the had aubergine schnitzel and baked pumpkin to choose from. As a vegan starter they offer a fennel salad with maracuja dressing. Although quite pricey, the food was excellent, great combination of flavors. Especially the baked pumpkin with seaweed was outstanding!

Great Food - Edit
The chickpea spinach entree for dinner was excellent as were the side salad and the roasted vegetables. I am always surprised and it takes a lot of getting used to that vegan entrées are so significantly smaller than meat entrées for the same price. No vegan protein options. That is the case in point for dinner at Terra Azore. I had to order a second entree - a veganized vegetarian pizza in order to be full.
Read moreThe buffet breakfast offers quite a few vegan options, but the only source of protein is the flavorful bean dish.
Pros: Very tasty food, Accommodating to vegans, EXCELLENT service
Cons: Pricey, No solid vegan protein options
