Vegan Friendly Cafe

I come from this area but had not visited for many years. It was great to find this vegan friendly cafe because there are not many options for vegans in Thornton Cleveleys. The owner, Janet, welcomes vegans and stocks a range of suitable products for the provision of drinks and light snacks. I had a Violife toasty with salad and coffee (with soya milk - other plant milks available). There are biscuits and sometimes vegan cake too. I think Janet would be only too happy to increase the number of vegan options, if the demand is there.

Pros: Welcomes vegans; good knowledge of vegan products, Pleasant, comfortable environment, Good value

A Little Something special.

A quaint café in the heart of Thornton’s shopping centre, this place accommodates a range of dietary restrictions. Friendly host was helpful to explain the vegan options; and all the foods for different requirements were prepared in separate locations with specific tools (such as a grill for vegan food, a grill for gluten free, and a grill for omni options) which was fantastic to see. There were no actively vegan options on the menu or mentions on the specials board, but options were easily customisable to cater for. There are a selection of vegan sweet treats, such as gingerbread men and millionaire's shortbread. There was a choice of unsweetened soya (alongside the usually supplied sweetened soya) which was a fantastic option!

Pros: Caters for a range of restrictions, Great location, Friendly staff and community based atmosphere

Cons: No clear vegan options without asking, Not many set vegan meals

Great Vegetarion/Vegan options!

I stumbled upon this cafe whilst walking to the local supermarket. I was with my 2 year old son and he was really hungry so I decided to go into the the cafe instead of having to go shopping then walk back home before he could eat. My son has a dairy allergy so I am used to asking for things with no butter etc. but the lady working there told me about all the dairy free/vegan options and there was lots! There was grilled cheese sandwiches, jacket potato's, salads, ginger bread men, cup cakes, ice cream......
There is also a little area with childrens toys for them to play with whilst the adults have a coffee.
After lunch and cakess we received a very low bill too.
The cakes were so good that I took a load home and froze them so my boy could have them after his dinner for the next couple of days!

I have been going back regularly and I reccommend this cafe to everyone, not just vegans like myself.

Pros: Cheap!, Very friendly lady owner, Child friendly

Vegan friendly comes to Thornton!

At long last, a vegan and gluten-free friendly café in the village where I grew up. Not only is it super easy for me to find something I can eat and a great coffee, Janet remembered me from my first visit and I don't even have to remind her of my dietary needs. Now, whenever I'm home, I can go out for lunch/coffee with my family and not have to feel awkward :)

Pros: vegan friendly, gluten-free options, super friendly

Vegan friendly cafe in Thornton!!!

Vegans can enjoy a big pot of tea with a choice of sweetened or unsweetened soya milk in a friendly café without having to go to a national chain. Non dairy spread and mayo are available for your vegan "cream cheese" sandwich or jacket potato and a vegan friendly seasonal dish is served on Saturdays.
What a find!!!!

Pros: Non dairy essentials available, Inexpensive, Very friendly staff
