Great Place - Edit

I love this place because is the only one in the city that offers exclusively vegan food and products. They are limited on the variety of menu options, because they are a small restaurant and everything is made from scratch. Everyone is friendly and helpful if you have questions about the food and products.

Worst dining experience - Edit

Well, I don't usually take the time to write reviews as I put most things down to experience, but I am compelled to write this review.

Having researched of where I could get a vegan / vegetarian lunch in Coruna I really liked the sound of this restaurant and it had good reviews and I was really looking forward to going. However, this is one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had.

When I arrived with my husband and brother-in-laws at 13:30 we were told to come back in and hour as they were not serving lunch yet, they seemed to be in a bit of dis-array with a pallet on the floor and the kitchen felt as though it was un-organised. We said we would come back at 14:30.

When we arrived (again) at 14:30 we were asked if we had a reservation, we hadn't made a reservation and we were surprised nothing had been said to us about this when we first visited them an hour previously! The waitress then went off to see if she could give us a table, even though the restaurant was not full and there were only 2 tables occupied (the whole time we were in the restaurant only 8 other people dined there, so they were far from being busy).

We were eventually shown to a table, where we sat for a good 5 mins or so before a menu was bought over. The menu was extremely limited and as they were handed to us we were told there was no courgette and ginger soup, as we were pondering on what to order a lady in colourful trousers walked past our table and shouted that one of the puddings was off the menu, she did not stop to apologise or to advise us politely, she carried on walking to the shop end of the restaurant while shouting this out to us, even though we had not even ordered our main course yet!

We then placed our order and were asked if we would like bread, to which we replied yes please. When the bread arrived we were surprised to see that it consisted of four thin slices no bigger than a small Jacobs cracker!

We also ordered smoothies pear and banana and banana and strawberry, I was shocked to find these had been pre made and were not fresh, they were quite unpleasant as the banana had taken hold of the smoothie and had obviously oxidised, not forgetting to mention there was no taste of strawberry at all in the banana and strawberry smoothie. I have never ordered a smoothie in a restaurant that was not freshly made, I could see they had a couple of vitamix's (professional blenders) in the kitchen through the opening so there's was no need to serve smoothies that were not fresh and that were virtually undrinkable, so much so we had to leave them!

When the main course came we were disappointed. The spaghetti was nice but it could have been more flavoursome, the ratatouille was basic and my courgette spaghetti was ok but in general the food was lacking taste, creativity and imagination in every sense. I have eaten in vegan / vegetarian restaurants in Glastonbury, Somerset, UK and many other restaurants in the UK, my favourite being the Raw Food Cafe in Covent Garden, London.

I asked if I could see the desert menu, my brother in law was asked if he would like a desert and he said no thank you, not if it's the same size of the bread. So I went ahead and ordered the raw raspberry cheesecake which was nice.

We then left and paid the bill which was €56 for 4 people, once outside we checked the bill and realised they had billed us for the wrong table. We then went back to advise them we had been charged incorrectly and there was absolutely no apology from them for the mistake, in fact the staff were very offish, we actually owed them more money (albeit €2) as our bill was €58. My brother-in-law then took the opportunity to say he felt the bread portion was rather small and very expensive to which the member of staff then said "well, we all have our prices, and if you don't like it don't come back", she then said we were rude and that they reserve the right to who they have in their restaurant. We were flabbergasted, paid the extra €2 and left.

Now, I love raw vegan and vegetarian food and I have experienced some great menus of this ilk over the last few years but this has got to be the worst place I have ever been too, the restaurant lacked atmosphere, the staff were extremely rude, unprofessional and un-welcoming. The food and menu on offer was basic. With raw and vegetarian food there is a wealth of herbs and spices that can be used, but they do not seem to have grasped the true concept of vegan and vegetarian food. I cannot recommend this place to anyone. This has left a bad taste in my mouth and I would urge you to think twice before you set foot in Factoria Verde!!

Pros: Good concept, Good shop

Cons: Restricted menu choice, Rude and unprofessional staff, Expensive

decepcionante y caro - Edit

3 estrellas, 2 por el postre.

El plato fui aburrido y sin mucho sabor.

El postre- muy bien

Pero más de €20 por un plato con un poco comida, una botella de zumo pequeño y un postre? Hay lugares mejor en La Coruña

Delicious and friendly - Edit

*note, they officially start serving food at 2pm*
We got there before 2 and received very nice and friendly service. The cook showed us the menu and explained in english what was available. We ordered 4 plates to share between 2 and it was absolutely delicious. Empanadas, seitan, fried zucchini with black salt and stuffed, cheesy eggplant (the eggplant was to die for). We also bought a bunch of vegan snack from the very well stocked vegan grocery for our drive the same day.

Pros: good and quality food, great service, grocery store

Cons: on the pricey side, it's the only vegan place in A Coruña!- also a pro

Great restaurant/shop - Edit

Amazing! I had the best lunch, a super nourishing kale and lentil soup and a big kale salad with goji, walnuts and yogurt dressing. It was delicious, not cheap but quite abundant.
The store has quite a few variety of products from superfoods, raw bars, tofu jerky, meat alternatives...
They also serve green juices and smoothies.
The service was very attentive and friendly. Definitely coming back!

Pros: Not only vegan but great tasting food, Quite a few menu alternatives, Shop assortment

Cons: Only opens for lunch so no breakfast

Huge vegan place!! - Edit

This place is one of the most extensive vegan stores I've visited in Europe during my travels! they have absolutely everything here to buy, from vegan snacks to mylks, jams, meats etc...all imported from various countries!
The menu was good, I had a platter of vegan cheeses and pumpkin salami with bread. I was able to have extra bread for free ☺ best vegan cheese I've tasted, the Platter had about 5 different cheeses.

Pros: Huge store! delicious food

Cons: No Wi-Fi. lunch was only served between 2-4

Excelente restaurante/tienda vegano - Edit

Updated from previous review on 2016-09-13

Incredible vegan place in La Coruña - Edit

In a city where there aren't many vegan options, this place is a "vegan paradise". The food is wonderful and they have a very diversified menu. We tried a lot of plates and we loved all of them. You can order a salad, pizza, seitan... and is just an awesome cooking.
The staff is absolutely lovely. They are all really nice and we had a wonderful time talking with them. We tried different things and they explained how to make them and were really helpful.
Something that also makes this place unique is that there is a store with the restaurant and they have all sorts of products and a big variety of them. Not only brand products but also grains, salts, dried fruits, etc. that you can buy. There were things we've never seen before and we are just dying to be back there in summer.
