Great food

I got the jerk chicken. It was good and spicy. But the star of the show was the mushroom poboy. EXCELLENT!

Best first meal I could have in the city!

I got the Jambalaya plate ($20) which came with tempeh BBQ ribs, "sausage" and "shrimp" Jambalaya, corn on the cob, & a side salad. The rice was soft and fluffy, all the flavors were on point. My friend got mushroom Po'boy, which he said was also flavorful and great. We shared the fried Okra as an app, which were cooked to perfection. We left full and happy. The staff were friendly and funny. Highly recommend!

Pros: Flavor, Friendly staff, Portion size for price

Massive sandwich

This is more of a takeaway than a restaurant which I hadn’t realized by there are a few tables. My sandwich was massive and no-frills (I ate off the paper it was wrapped in) and tasted good. I wouldn’t say it’s a must-visit place but I definitely thought my food was really good, and since I kind of wanted a no-fuss meal anyway it was perfect for me.

Mixed feelings 👎

I wanted to start off by saying that the service here was subpar, please Instill some sort of bell. They don’t have anyone upfront. I had order a black bean burger. It was pretty good. My husband order a pepperoni slice of pizza that was 0/10. The cheese was very nauseating. Overall, I’d like to go back to try different items but they definitely need to something about the stuff.

Pros: Nice vibe

Cons: Small portions , Overpriced

Awesome Gumbo and Po Boys

Awesome Gumbo and Po Boys. Brought some non-vegan friends, and they tried and really enjoyed the gumbo. One even went back for more. Great to have a vegan option in the Quarter! Check this place out.

Vegan in NOLA

Delish vegan with soul food vibe.
Gumbo, po boy and slab plate with mac shared among group of friends. All great. Would visit again.
Very casual, few tables, geared to take out. Food served in takeout containers

Lovely vegan food

We stopped by for our dinner one night and were really impressed. The food was absolutely delicious and the guys who run in were very friendly. Highly recommend for any vegan visiting New Orleans!

Pros: Aubergine poboy , Sausage poboy with cheese , Owners

Cons: Musics slightly too loud to hold a conversation

Vegan PoBoys!

I chose the fried mushroom option and while it was totally fun it was also just kind of checking it off the list. Definitely don't need to do it twice.

Excellent sides, entrees were mixed

We loved the fried okra and sweet potato fries we got as sides. Their smoothies are good, too. I was a little disappointed by their entrees, though. The French bread they used for the sausage po boy was very soft, and the veggie ingredients were not very fresh. I had the jerk chicken wrap on another visit, and it was fine, but again the veggies were not very appealing. My friend got the bacon cheeseburger, and I thought it was the best entree of the three.

Overall, I highly recommend this place for its sides. But I thought the entrees relied too heavily on imitation meat products to carry the dishes. I wish their entrees featured more fresh, well spiced veggies.

Vegan fast food

Nice to have an all vegan place, it is however really vegan fast food and we end up not finding it very special. Also the salad was not fresh like we expected. I guess that this kind of vegan is just not too much our thing.

Pros: Vegan food

Cons: Real fast food concept

Amazing poboys and okra bites

Great service, excellent food, we had the fable mushroom poboy sub and okra bites which were fried in a light batter. Food was so flavoursome , and the tropical smoothie outstanding. We would have been back everyday if we hadn't been going home the next day. Great location as there are a row of witch shops with some great items in them from the next door down and the French Market that does fantastic cocktails.

Pros: The food is outstanding., Great location and premises., Staff were helpful.

Huge sandwich

Hot sausage po boy was huge, super tasty, really cool unique vegan options you don’t see many other places. Gumbo was a little plain, I like mine with more of a kick. Not plain enough to knock a star off, this is still definitely a place I’d come back to, the sandwich ruled

Pros: Portion size, Options

Cons: Gumbo could have more kick

Essential part of a vegan New Orleans experience

This was pretty much my first stop in New Orleans and it was a perfect one! I got a fried mushroom po' boy and split the fried okra with friends - both craveable cajun food! The location is convenient for a lot of fun in the area😄I need to go back and try more of the menu!

Pros: Lots of authentic local food options, All vegan - a bit hard to find in New Orleans, Good location

Great comfort food in the Quarter

I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap and sweet potato fries. The sauce was spicy and had the perfect kick of heat but not too much. The cheese was melted and gooey and delicious. The protein was crispy and delicious. Very filling and good. Will definitely go back and try more things!

Good food and great people

I was very excited to try out 2 Phat Vegans. The menu looks great and the reviews seem to bear. that out. A little disappointed to find that when I arrived the two most popular items - Hot Sausage Po Boy and Mic Drop Burger were out of stock. I asked the cashier for any other recommendations and she said the jerk chicken was great so I ordered that and the pepperoni pizza as well as a dessert.

The pizza came out first and was quite good. The cheese is a little gummy, but flavorful and the pepperoni is the best I’ve had. I wish the crust was a little crispier but it’s very good.

The jerk chicken is very interesting. It’s quite flavorful and the jerk seasoning is spicy but not overwhelming. It’s heated a little inconsistently though. The chicken was room temp while other parts were very hot. The cheese was melted in parts and not melted in other. The wrap itself is a nice texture. All in all the wrap is good but not great. The heat is nice and flavorful though so it makes me wish I could have tried the po boy.

The dessert is good, lemon poppyseed muffins. It’s very good but just as good as the Abe’s muffins of the same flavor.

Given the small number of all vegan restaurants in the area, you should definitely check this place out and support them. It’s good food, good atmosphere, friendly staff. 4/5
