Rude staff, awful oat milk and overcharged - Edit
Gosh this place was a disappointment. They won’t let you order off the breakfast menu after twelve (inc avo toast and smoothie bowls), which is where most of the vegan options are. Every item on their menu is more expensive in their “computer system” so more expensive than on the paper menu, so you get overcharged when you pay.

Sehr geiler beyond meat Burger! - Edit
Wir haben hier mehrmals den Veggieburger gegessen. Er ist vegan und mit beyond meat nach Geschmack, auch wenn es nicht dabei steht, sooo lecker! Die veganen Crepes als Nachspeise waren auch sehr gut. Auch das Kokosgetränk ist lecker.

We had the vegan lasagna and a quinoa bowl. Both were really good, I just wish there was more lasagna. The pic I took was after my dad ate half of it 😂.
Read moreReally enjoyed the bowl with wakame (seaweed salad). I had to ask for different sauces for the salad I believe but they were very accommodating.
The coffee was alright, I got an iced latte and it was middle of the road. My dad got the iced blue latte and really disliked it, but I don't think he realized it had spirulina in it.

We went there twice. Both times delicious veganized amuse-gueules. The burger was great because there was so much on it. Couldn't believe the parmigiana was vegan. Also the three dips coming with the plantain chips were delicious. Had a nice talk to gino, the boss i assumed. They understand vegan. The side salad was great, too.

The best restaurant for vegans in Santa Cruz - Edit
When I’m in Santa Cruz, Galapagos, (so far I have visited Galapagos twice) I go to 1835 almost daily.

Their quinoa vegan omelette is to die for and I have it each morning with an almond milk coffee.
You need to make it clear that you are vegan, and not vegetarian. Most waitresses/ waiters understand the difference. However, you need to double check sauces and bread.
It’s important to remind them that vegan also means no cheese, no cow’s milk and no eggs. (Sin queso, sin leche e sin uevos)
They usually bring out a free starter. Always ask if it’s vegan. They will sometimes bring you a special vegan starter just for you.
The food is absolutely delicious. I have tried all vegan dishes on the menu. They have vegan cheese and make vegan home made dips such as tzatziki made of coconut. Definitely the best restaurant by far when it comes to vegan food.
Staff is very friendly and as long as you are communicative all should be well.
The portions are also large.
Pros: Lots of vegan options , Innovative vegan dishes such as vegan omelette, Vegan milk and vegan cheese

Had the plantain sandwich which the waitress assured me was vegan. It had a chipotle mayo type sauce on it that I skeptically trusted was vegan. The sandwich was pretty good and the restaurant had a great ambiance.

I ordered a plantain meal, to bring on a bike ride to the beach. When i went to eat it i realised it was a beef and egg sandwich. Brought it back after and the guy was a bit of an arsehole about it. It took quite a bit of arguing before he agreed to replace it what i originally ordered.
I've been back a few times since. The vegan waffle is delicious. However i ask every time if the green leaf on the menu is definitely vegan and everytime they assure me it is. On my second occasion they came back and said the cream with the waffle isnt vegan..... after they'd served if to me the week before saying it was a vegan meal 🤦♀️ please beaware and double check everything

If you like coffee, this is the place! The meal I had, had too much salt which often happens around here. There were not a lot of vegetables on offer. That said there are slim pickings on this island and they have many options. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is nice.

This place was a lifesaver when it came to our daily caffeine kick. They have an extensive list of decent coffees and actually their menu had quite a few vegan options as well. Food did not look particularly good so we only tried the vegan quiche which was bland and nothing special.
