Spicy Fava Beans in Crock Pot

1 pound dry fava beans
1/2 pound dry kidney or beans of choice
3/4 cup vegetable oil
1 red bell pepper
1 large yellow onion
8 ounce fresh mushroom
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon parsley
1 tablespoon oregano
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon chili powder
1/2 tablespoon black pepper
1/2 tablespoon thyme
1/2 tablespoon red pepper
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon sea salt
10 cup water
4 bay leaves


Chop red pepper, onion, and mushroom.

Place all ingredients into a 4 quart crock pot.

Add water fill to the top and cover.

Cook on high for 10 hours which will yield slightly firm beans with thin sauce. Or cook for 12 hours to yield softer beans with thicker sauce.
