Pennsylvania Red Cabbage

    Start by placing the shredded red cabbage into the bottom of a pot, the pot must have a lid. Place the apple pieces over the cabbage, then add the brown sugar, salt, and caraway seeds (optional).
    Pour the vinegar over the top and place the pot on medium heat to cook for 20-30 minutes, or until all the ingredients are tender. Serve and enjoy.


    4 cup shredded red cabbage
    1 large granny smith apple, cut into small pieces
    1/4 cup brown sugar
    1/3 cup vinegar
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon caraway seeds (optional)
