    Heat water to just boiling and mix in the sugar. Mix until sugar completely dissolved. Pour the hot water and sugar mixture over a pitcher of ice while the water is still hot so that the ice melts. Add lime juice.


    1/2 gallon hot water
    1.5 cup sugar (evaporated cane juice or sweetener of choice)
    13 large limes, juice
    Optional: Mint
