  • Go for panini or soup

Located between two of the main party areas in town - Cowgate and Grassmarket - it's in a good spot to grab a warm meal before a pub tour for instance. Let Me Eat Too is open every day from morning till when the night is just about to start. There is always loud music playing and tables and chairs are made of palettes, so it's kind of a grunge-like place, hipster vibes. At first, honestly, I was surprised why this eatery would have an entry in happycow, since the food predominantly isn't vegan, vegan option are quite limited, most options cointain meat, there is even a picture on the wall showing a Red Riding Hood-ish girl eating a steak with bare hands. Actually though, considering that there are vegan soup choices often times available, and since vegan stuff is clearly labeled, it's probably a fair listing. I ate there twice. First time I had a decent fennel soup (soups are chainging frequently) and the second time a really great falafel panini, so loved that! (And quite big, too.) However, unfortunately it's kinda uncomfortable there, for the "tables" are not high enough ( or, respectively, the "chairs" are too high). Also, they don't offer any beer (or any other alcohol) as far as I noticed. There is a toilet (the reviewer before me wasn't sure), it's pretty well hidden though (entering on the left side in the wall, before the beverages). Service was good. Outdoor seating available as well.
