Real Food Daily – Vegan At The Airport

You’re in a hurry. You’re hungry. You’re veg*. You know you will need food to bring on the plane. You’ve just arrived, starving. You wish there was just a veg* restaurant close by, but you know better. Well, now there is healthy veg* food at the AIRPORT!

I’ve never been so teeth-grinningly happy to enter airport security. I knew once I was past security, after putting my shoes back on, I would have arrived at Terminal 4—the home of Real Food Daily at LAX.

Currently you have to fly American Airlines to access Terminal 4. The restaurant is past (after) security, so you have to enter the gate area with a ticket. Plans to connect the terminals to the international section of the airport are in place though, and after that the trains should also connect all of the terminals.

RFD-LAX is easy to find, next to other concessions with abundant seating available. You will notice a big green sign clearly marked with “Organic Plant-Based Cuisine.”

JUICE! I ordered a custom green juice, the Pasa Bowl and Country Vegetable Miso Soup. How cool is it to have a fresh juice on or before a flight? That alone is amazing. I was able to eat some food there and take some on the flight. Everything can be taken to-go and well-packed for your journey. I took a side of rice with me, and I could have even brought a dessert (carrot cake, for example).

Here’s a shot of an AWESOME breakfast that one of my clients sent me. It’s the No-Huevos Rancheros with salad instead of potatoes, and cilantro-lime salad dressing.

More great news: if you’re arriving at LAX late, Real Food Daily is open until midnight! You can get a smoothie or a cookie then too. Joy!
