Stewart's passion for wildlife includes his advocacy for sharks when he discovered their illegal killing within the marine reserve in the Galapagos Islands. Passed away January 31, 2017 during a diving for his new documentary Sharkwater Extinction (in theater 19th of October 2018)

He had passed away the 31st of january 2017, during a diving for his new documentary Sharkwater Extinction (in theater 19th of october)
This engagement for sharks, oceans and Earth did of him an great eco-warrior.
