Remember, it is an evolution. She was not vegetarian or vegan, there were no vegans in her era, but there was also no people speaking out for the well being of animals. Accept for Betty. She was a pioneer in animal advocacy. From there, emerged vegetarians, and then later from vegetarianism, veganism. It has been a process, and we should acknowledge and praise every stage. She was a very important first step and first voice for animals. Rest in peace sweet, funny, strong lady.
