Good Food

Good vegetarian food but can cater to vegans as well.

Ask for the vegetarian special menu and don’t miss the Kachalu. These are small Bathuras / pooris with filling of potatoes or veggies.
We ordered a paneer tikka, palak sabzi and from afghani bread and portion sizes were decent but for a family of 4 you will need 3/4 portions

Don’t miss the lemon tea - it was amazing

Excellent

Fantastic food, so much flavour. We are vegetarian rather than vegan and I'd especially recommend the paneer shashlik, bolani kachalu and vegetable sabzi. Note that they have a vegetarian menu with some dishes not on the main menu, so do ask for that.

The food is so good and spicy but the staff is so annoying, not welcoming and tries to scam tourists

Such a pity the food is really good but you need to ask them multiple times about what their food contain to make sure it’s fully vegan.

The service is terrible. The guys working there do anything but working🤮. And so slow. Good that people in the kitchen are fast and great at their job, but the waiters were so annoying and not welcoming.

We didn’t know they don’t accept cards, as many restaurants in Tashkent and other cities in Uzbekhistan do accept cards.

They offered to “help” by paying with dollars.

We had the exact amount in dollars (15) but they didn’t want to accept, only 50 or 100 bank notes🤮. And they also gave us a special exchange rate - 8 dollars commission for themselves for each 50 dollars. Disgusting. We ended up going to ATM to avoid the scam.

Also - they tell us they speak English, but they don’t. It was much easier to speak on Google translate from the beginning than pretending to understand English but in fact doesn’t know any word except “dollars”

Silk Road Flex

Multiple vegan options. The staff understands English & can adjust certain vegetarian dishes to be made vegan upon request. The food was great! Serves beer if you’re feeling a little feisty

Pros: Lots of vegan option, Staff can communicate in English , Delicious!

Cons: Portions aren’t too big
