A slice of Bangkok in Portland - Edit
They had a fully separate veggie/vegan menu with well-marked options. The flavors here blew me away and they took big risks with bold spices. I loved it, we’ll definitely be back. There’s some hard find thai dishes here that are rare in Portland.

Really enjoyed this experience. Some of the best service I’ve had in Portland. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, thoughtfully paced dishes, inviting space full of people having a great time. Every dish was tasty and memorable, and I look forward to exploring more of their separate vegan/vegetarian menu over the months ahead.

My wife and I have been craving Pak Boong since our honeymoon in Thailand back in 2019. Yaowarat already gets 4 stars from us just for having an analog to that in their stir-fried Chrysanthemum shoots. They have a separate veg/vegan/gluten free menu upon request. About 6-7 items can be vegan 🌱 and the three we had were all absolutely stellar. Can’t wait to go back and try the rest. Authentic Thai flavors with a Chinese-Thai immigrant twist. We will be back.

Given their reputation, I was excited to try their vegan offerings but was pretty disappointed. Their chrysanthemum greens were the best thing I ate and I liked their spicy pickled cabbage salad as well but their black pepper tofu was one note, the vegan kuay teow noodle dish seemed like it was lacking (the server said that they think it needs the egg to pull the dish together) and the chive cakes were pretty gloopy on the inside and the dipping sauce had too much molasses for my taste.
