Amazingly decadent desserts

If you’ve followed our reviews for a while, you probably know how much we love the sweet and savory selections at Futaba Fruits Parlor. So when we discovered that a NEW FFP had been opened in the station next to ours, Mitsukyō, you can imagine we were pretty excited!

The excitement decreased significantly when we learned that none of the savory items at the Mitsukyō location could be veganized. The Kawasaki and Shinjuku locations have delicious dishes that are already vegan, so it’s quite odd that Mitsukyō didn’t decide to include at least one of those.

So lunch was a bust, but luckily there were plenty of desserts available. The cakes are already vegan, and the parfaits can be veganized by paying 100 yen for soy ice cream.

The Banana and Chocolate Parfait was, of course, amazing. What really sets FFP’s parfaits above the rest are the meticulously cut slices of fruit inside. They’re beautifully constructed masterpieces, and they taste just as great. The Mitsukyō location’s parfaits are a little smaller and cheaper, but they were just right.

On the way out, we spoke with the manager, who was very nice and said she’d try to get some vegan savory items on the menu. In the meantime, we’ll be chowing down on those desserts!

Pros: Amazing desserts , Very close to the station , Lots of space

Cons: No vegan savory items , Can get loud
